June 11, 2014

The Liberty Bell reminds Americans of their independence from Great Britain. For the people of Israel, stones by the Jordan River reminded them of God’s faithfulness at key points in their history.

The Eclipse Of God
Just as the moon obscures the sun’s light during an eclipse, today’s radical secularism has obscured the light of God. But God’s light still shines—and He is calling us to shine His light in our growing darkness. Is God more tolerant than He used to be? Pastor Lutzer shows how God is both a God of wrath as well as grace; that He is both merciful and just, and both a redeemer and a judge. Deepen your love for our unchangeable God of the Bible and be empowered to proclaim the light of truth in a culture of darkness. We call great moments in life “milestones.” They mark out significant times and cause us to remember them. This year, The Moody Church marks a major milestone as we celebrate our 150th anniversary.

We can be sure that our faith will always lead to ultimate victory, even if we never see the rewards of that faith while still in this life. That was true for many of the heroes of faith in the Bible. One such hero was Abraham.

The heroes of faith in Hebrews 11 include ordinary people like you and I. They believed God despite not seeing immediate responses to their prayers. We, too, can exhibit their kind of faith, by believing God no matter what.
June 6, 2014
Some wonder what good it is to have faith in God when He never seems to answer their prayers. Many lose what faith they had and give up on God altogether. In this message, Pastor Lutzer takes a look at the heroes of faith who believed God no matter what.
June 5, 2014
The rewards of our faith are not primarily found in this life. In the life to come, God bestows rewards for faithfulness. Like the heroes of faith in Hebrews 11, we need to set our sights on heaven, realizing that, then, this life’s pain will be worth it all.
June 4, 2014
When our faith in God is genuine, it causes us to make choices in God’s favor. We willingly take the risk of alienating those around us when we choose God’s way over that of the world. That’s what Moses did, as we read in Hebrews 11.
June 3, 2014
Some people claim to have faith, yet their lives show little evidence of it. Others are willing to take risks to live out their faith. Today, we focus on this kind of faith, the kind that will survive when times of testing come.

Before Jesus raised Lazarus, He waited four days before displaying His power in calling his friend from the grave. Jesus specializes in giving new life to those dead in their sins and separated from God.
May 30, 2014
Jesus used miracles to teach lessons. Perhaps His greatest lesson involved Lazarus. First, He allowed a sick friend to die. Then, He raised him from the dead to show that He is indeed “the resurrection and the life.”
May 29, 2014
Our greatest fear is death, and our greatest pain is when loved ones die. A friend’s death caused Jesus to weep. In a display of power and glory that shook creation, Jesus cried out, “Lazarus, come forth!”
