Dr. Erwin W. Lutzer

The Old Testament Part 1, Part 2 of 4 (The Drama Of Redemption)

September 29, 2020

When You’ve Been Wronged
Conflict in relationships is inevitable, but healing and reconciliation often is not. Time and again we've tried every option and failed, and all we are left with is a load of guilt and pain. Pastor Erwin Lutzer shows how the blessing the Lord gives to those who suffer unjustly is worth the pain involved. He also illustrates the need to leave our broken relationships in the hands of God and move forward in our lives toward freedom. There’s a good reason why the Bible tells us to guard our hearts. Let’s consider the mind of a sex addict. We’ll see how a person becomes one and learn what steps to take to break an addiction fed by sexual images on the internet.

The Bible tells us to “touch not the unclean thing.” We need to make choices that honor God, and where that mouse pointer goes is a choice we make every day. How can we make those right choices, and how can we say “no” to the wrong ones?

When two oxen pull a plow, both need to work together. That’s why the Bible says, “don’t be unequally yoked together” in any binding relationships. We need to separate from the world to avoid being contaminated. But what does that look like in our lives?

The moral impurity on the internet is destroying a whole generation. Do we abandon a technology we can’t live without, or do we risk exposure to sexual images while trying to engage the world we live in? Let’s look for guidance from 2 Corinthians chapter 6.

No matter how far we’ve fallen, there’s help and hope if we come to God in honest repentance, seeking His forgiveness and healing. Many who’ve been in deep moral sin now have this hope. Listen to the testimony of one man who found that God’s grace was enough.
