When You’ve Been Wronged
Conflict in relationships is inevitable, but healing and reconciliation often is not. Time and again we've tried every option and failed, and all we are left with is a load of guilt and pain. Pastor Erwin Lutzer shows how the blessing the Lord gives to those who suffer unjustly is worth the pain involved. He also illustrates the need to leave our broken relationships in the hands of God and move forward in our lives toward freedom. The Apostle Paul said Jesus was “declared to be the Son of God in power... by his resurrection from the dead.” If we trust in Christ, the empty tomb in Jerusalem provides a promise that the tombs you and I shall occupy will one day be empty as well.

Death is everyone’s unavoidable fate, the legacy of the first sin committed by Adam and Eve. But believers cling to the promise of Jesus: “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”

Our aspirations as believers must pass through God’s hands. Jesus faced untold agony in Gethsemane. He knew what awaited Him, and He prayed until blood drops hit the ground. Most importantly, He said to His Father, “Not my will, but Thine be done.”

Gethsemane lies on the Mount of Olives. Here, Jesus spent a night in agonized prayer before being nailed to a cross. His mission was to drink the cup of suffering for you and for me. But what does this mean? Let’s examine the significance of the suffering of Christ.

Some Christians believe the walk of faith should bring them happiness and prosperity. But our Master’s real legacy includes suffering. To walk where Jesus walked means walking in Gethsemane. In that garden a decision was reached that made salvation possible.

Every day we hear a thousand voices call out, saying “listen to me.” But only one voice really matters. When Jesus was transfigured, God spoke from within a cloud, saying “This is my beloved Son... listen to Him.”

Atop a high mountain, a glorified Jesus appeared along with Moses and Elijah in the presence of Peter, James, and John. The Transfiguration was an amazing event. In today’s message we examine the significance of those who gathered on that momentous day.

On a high place, Jesus gave three disciples a blinding vision of the future. Moses and Elijah appeared with Him, symbolizing Jesus as fulfilling both the law and the prophets. The experience was so powerful that, years later, Peter wrote about being “on the Holy Mountain.”

Can Satan bind a child of God? Can a Christian sell his or her soul to the devil? In this message Pastor Lutzer speaks frankly about the limits God has set on Satan’s domain, and why the victory of Christ is complete. We’ll learn all this from Matthew chapter 12.
