Living With Your Passions
In a hyper-sexualized culture, sex is either reduced to pleasure-seeking or conflated with our identity. But God designed us as sexual beings for emotional and spiritual intimacy whose highest calling is to worship Him. In this revised edition, Pastor Erwin Lutzer draws on forty years of ministry experience to present a rationale for sexual purity. He gives an honest answer to the sexual pressures we face like extramarital relationships, self-gratification, same-sex attraction, and more. As desire-driven creatures, we don't have to pursue happiness at the expense of character. With our identity grounded in Christ, we can live victoriously with our passions. Atop a high mountain, a glorified Jesus appeared along with Moses and Elijah in the presence of Peter, James, and John. The Transfiguration was an amazing event. In today’s message we examine the significance of those who gathered on that momentous day.

One day the Pharisees accused Jesus of casting out demons using Satan’s power. Jesus replied, “A house divided against itself cannot stand.” His answer left them speechless, and so, they plotted to destroy Him. In this message we see how public opinion turned against Jesus.

Long ago, people connected sickness with personal sin. Jesus used that common perception in healing a paralyzed man, beginning by forgiving his sins, and thus infuriating some nearby Jewish scribes. In this message we take a look at a great miracle.

Four men wanted to help a sick man get well. Their determination was noted by Jesus, because they broke through a roof to get the job done. They made sure the man was brought to Jesus. When we can’t help ourselves, God provides others who can bear our burdens.

C.S. Lewis defined a miracle as “an interference with nature by a supernatural power.” The miracles of Jesus were clear, public, long-lasting, and not in dispute. They testify to His being the Son of God, and were performed not to amaze, but rather, to teach.
