The Eclipse Of God
Just as the moon obscures the sun’s light during an eclipse, today’s radical secularism has obscured the light of God. But God’s light still shines—and He is calling us to shine His light in our growing darkness. Is God more tolerant than He used to be? Pastor Lutzer shows how God is both a God of wrath as well as grace; that He is both merciful and just, and both a redeemer and a judge. Deepen your love for our unchangeable God of the Bible and be empowered to proclaim the light of truth in a culture of darkness. At the mall we’re assailed by lights, trees, tinsel, ornaments, and all sorts of holiday cheer. What you won’t find is much about Christ, whose coming is the reason for the season.

We invest heavily in the few years we have on earth. But most of us invest very little in the life that follows after we die. In a parable, Jesus makes it clear that we need to reset our priorities and live now in view of the real life yet to come.

The parables of Jesus cut to the deepest level of human motivation. In the story of the rich fool, greed was one issue… but covetousness was another. None of us is free from the grip of wanting more. This sin can block our view of what’s really important: where we spend eternity.

In a parable, Jesus told of a man who had too much stuff and needed bigger barns to hold it all. The man’s error: assuming his stuff was all he needed. The man didn’t realize that he really needed something his barns could never hold.
