Paradise Restored-b
Book of Revelation - Vol-5 - God's Final Judgment and Victory - Part 8
Dr. Roche Coleman: Because there are many people right now in churches, they are thinking they're working their way to heaven. You can't do it. I don't care how much you volunteer from the pulpit to the parking lot. All over the world, there are people who think that they can preach enough, volunteer enough, give enough, or attend enough. It won't get you in. It's by faith you've been saved. As a result of having faith in Jesus Christ, then I work as a result of my faith. I'm not working for my faith.
Why is this so important? Because there are many people who are sitting or have logged on who are not saved. I'm trying to show you as lovingly, clearly, and compassionately as I can that you need to get right with God because there is a day you will be judged. Then you have the great white throne judgment. The great white throne judgment is what's referenced here in Revelation 20:11. If you stand at the white throne judgment, you can kiss the baby goodnight. It's over for you. There is no second chance.
Guest (Male): This is the Infusion Broadcast with Roche Coleman Ministries. We're so glad you've tuned in to join us today. Dr. Coleman continues the series on the Book of Revelation. We're in chapter 20 as he describes the events just prior to the 1,000-year millennial reign of Jesus Christ. He describes John's vision about the events taking place both on earth and in heaven during this time, together with a challenge and practical application to our lives. Let's go now to part two of the message titled Paradise Restored.
Dr. Roche Coleman: Revelation chapter 20, verse 10 lets us know their third buddy, part of the evil trinity, accompanies them and he's also cast into the same place, the lake of fire and brimstone. I love something that you can easily miss if you're not observing the text. Look at the text. It's a lake. Satan, the beast, and the false prophet are in the lake. Lakes have boundaries and barriers, not like a river. The lake says that even where they're being punished, they're confined. God has boundaries where they cannot go beyond.
He placed them there and they are being punished for their rejection of the Lord and for their deceptive practices while they were here. God placed them in this lake of fire and brimstone. There are those who want you to believe that there's no such thing as a lake of fire and that there is no eternal punishment. I want to tell you, listen to me with all the grace and mercy I have and compassion, don't believe the lie. Don't let someone deceive you and trick you. There is a lake of fire and it is a real place. That is where Satan and his partners will be.
Remember, the false prophet and the beast are already there. They have beat him there. They're there a thousand years before him. Now he's cast into the lake of fire with them. It's real. There are many people who don't believe that there is an eternal punishment, but there is an eternal punishment. But not just them are going to be there. There are going to be others who are going to accompany them. Stay with me now. Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away and no place was found for them.
Why are they fleeing from this great white throne? This great white throne represents the presence of God Himself, the Great I Am, the Alpha and the Omega, the Eternal One, the Ancient of Days, the wheel in the middle of the wheel. It is our God. When the presence of glory, righteousness, and splendor, the Shekinah glory, comes forth, everything has to flee. It has to run because of the majesty of our God. John says, "I saw this throne, this great white throne there, and when he sees this great white throne, he says everything is fleeing from its presence and there's nowhere for it to go."
John, what else do you see? Verse 12 says, "I saw the dead, the great and small, dictators, presidents, governors, mayors, standing before the throne, and the books were opened and another book was opened, which is the Book of Life." John says they're all standing there. He sees these books, they're open, and in those books they have a record of what was done. This is the thing so often we believe. We think that we get by because nobody sees us.
I love the story of Moses when Moses is out and he is trying to usurp the movement of God. Why do I say usurp? Because he's moving before God is ready to move. He goes out and he kills the Egyptian. The Bible says he looks to the left, he looks to the right, but Moses, you've got to look up. Most of us do that. We're looking around and thinking nobody sees, but we forget to look up. God sees it all. We say, "But it was dark. How could they see me?" God can see in the darkest darkness. "But I was by myself. I was out in the woods." God is everywhere.
God sees. That's why when the books are open, everything is meticulous. Everything is chronologically, systematically recorded with copious notes, footnotes, and an appendix. Nothing's missed. I know you're getting quiet now, but I want you to have a sober analysis as we look at this text because this is a frightening and fearful text. He says the books are open, and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books according to their deeds.
You and I must understand there are only two options that God ever gives us, and there are going to be two judgments. Number one, we have the judgment seat of Christ. The judgment seat of Christ is where all believers will appear according to Second Corinthians. Only authentic believers will be there at the judgment seat. This happens, we believe, after we are raptured out. We believe we go and we have the judgment seat of Christ. This is before the millennial kingdom. This is where the believer will be raptured up. We go to be with the Lord and what happens here, believers only are rewarded for their stewardship.
Listen closely. We receive salvation by faith in Jesus Christ alone. That is how we're born again. Once we're born again, then we do the works as a result of being saved. It is by faith that we are saved. I don't want you to leave and think you can work your way into heaven. It won't do it. Ephesians 2:8-9 says it's by grace you've been saved. It is by faith alone that you get salvation. But once you get salvation, God expects you to do the work of righteousness. God judges us at the judgment seat of Christ based on what we do after receiving salvation.
We get rewards. There are many people right now in churches, they are thinking they're working their way to heaven.
There's no purgatory, no reincarnation, no transmigration of soul. All of that is a lie. It's from mythology going back as far as one can see. Do not embrace, believe, or share that lie. It's false. You have two options. That's it, two. For the church age saints, it is trusting in Christ by faith. If you don't, you're going to be at the white throne judgment. Who's there? Unbelievers only. For what purpose? Final condemnation for your rejection of Jesus Christ.
What is the outcome? He tells us right here. Look in the Bible with me. Those names who are not written in the Book of Life, they're judged according to their deeds. The sea gave up their dead which were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them. All those people who've died in explosions, bombs, Jimmy Hoffa, they're going to come forth. We're going to find out where they are. They were judged, every one of them, according to their deeds.
You see, it's something about these deeds. The unsaved, because they never trust Christ, they are judged on what they did as nonbelievers. All of us have deeds. The righteous, the Christian, we have deeds that are based upon our faith in Jesus Christ. The unrighteous, what are their deeds based upon? The faith they have in the devil himself because you are trusting in somebody. There's no neutral. Neutral is only on your vehicle. It is not when it comes to life. There's no neutral ground. For those of you who say, "I'm agnostic" or "I'm atheist," no you're not. You're fooling yourself.
Saints, we have a duty to lovingly share with our loved ones. Every time you come into church every Sunday, I have these cards. Why? Because I don't want your family members, your friends, or your neighbors to experience this judgment, this white throne judgment. I don't want them to be there. This is an easy way you can invite people and tell them about Christ. You can invite them to church. I want you to be bold and invite them. But if you can't, slide them a card and say, "Hey, I want you to come and hear about our Lord." Here's opportunity because we have to let them know that hell is real.
Then death and Hades were thrown, and he says here, this is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written in the Book of Life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. This is sad. There's nothing great about this. This is the most solemn thing that you can see. We live in a world now where you hear people say, "I don't want to go to that church. They talk about fire and brimstone." It's a negative characterization of an individual or a church. I'm convinced that people say this because the average churchgoer does not want to be confronted with the idea and concept of sin.
They want to come to church and they want their preacher to be a just-trained entertainer who makes them feel good for about 20 minutes and makes them walk out. The bigger sinner they were when they walked in, never confront them about sin or unrighteousness. Never challenge them to serve and to volunteer and give of their time, talent, and treasure to the kingdom of God. Never inconvenience them to do what God has called them to do, that God has placed them and planted them for a purpose for a destiny to bring Him glory.
We want a church that makes us feel good and entertains us so that we can be happy in our lives. We don't want any interruption. We don't want nobody to tell us that there's consequence for adultery, there's responsibility for fornication. Homosexuality is a sin and perversion and abomination. Nobody to tell us about all the things that God has written clearly in His Word. We just want to be happy as we go to hell. But I want to tell you, I'm here compassionately and lovingly. I'm telling you, I take no pleasure in talking about hell, none. But at the same time, I don't want to see you perish.
How would you feel that one day the light comes on and then you say, "I was in that church all that time and they never told me about sin. They allowed me to sit there in my sin and never challenged me." How would you feel you stand one day before the white throne judgment and you're thinking, "Why nobody told me this was coming?" It's our job as pastors and teachers and leaders with all grace and mercy to share with you the truth of Scripture.
You guys don't know how much I pray for you. You don't know how many times I walk around this property praying for people, everybody that comes on this campus, everybody that logs on. I'm praying, "Lord, prepare their hearts to receive your word." Because I'm convinced God has called me to this. Otherwise, I wouldn't take all the hell I take. I don't want to see you perish. I pray that you feel the same way about those in your sphere.
How could you say you're a Christian? How can you say you've been changed and transformed? You received the power of God. How can you say you've tasted and see that the Lord is good but you don't let anybody taste and see that He's good? You don't share about it. While you're posting that meal you had at one of your favorite restaurants, how about post the word of God and tell somebody, "Taste this and see how good it is." You will post every restaurant, every little drink you take, every little vacation, but you never post anything about the word of God. There's something wrong with your relationship. Preaching from my heart, this is serious. You don't know when God is going to come knock on your door.
I'm going to close with this. It's pretty morbid but I want you to just hear me. Listen close. I want to drive this home. One of my hardest jobs as a pastor is I have to deal with a lot of death and dying. When we go to the homes, oftentimes you see a person in their final position before their spirit was taken away. I've done this so many times, but it's always intriguing to me to see and it stays in my mind, the posture that people are in when they die. When I see them, I've seen people on floors and one that always I just can't get out of my mind is the one I saw in Parchman, Mississippi. I was on my way to the prison in Parchman and there was an accident outside the prison.
The man was trying to pass and they collided. He was sideways, kind of upside down in the car, dead. I looked at how his body was contorted and I saw how his head was. I've never been able to get that out of my mind. I can always see him. There have been different people that I've seen and I think about that. The thing that always comes to me is how death is so instant. No warning, you're gone. Whatever posture you're in, it's fixed because immediately the spirit is extracted from the body and you're left there. You don't know when that moment is going to come. When it happens, it's too late. Nothing can change it.
What I want to challenge you to do is this, to think hard right now. Don't look to your left or right. Don't touch anybody, don't check your phone. I want you to think and say, "Lord, if I died right now, left in this position where I am, would my name be written in the Book of Life?" It's real. I'm serious. Is your name written? The enemy's going to try to distract you. You're going to get something that come in right now while you're trying to get serious. For those of you online, ask, "Lord, is my name really in the book? Or am I deceived by the great deceiver? Am I lost like a rudderless ship?"
Lord, where am I in relation to you because one day I'm going to give an account of my stewardship and I will be judged based on my deeds. Some of you are saying, "Well, this happened." Forgive, let it go, release whatever happened to you in the past and extend your hand to the hand of the Great Master and let Him deliver you. Our impact thought for today is this, I want you to see it. Satan is cast into the lake of fire 1,000 years after the beast and false prophet. You don't have to share in their torment. Our God is here.
As we close, I'm going to pray for you. I just want you to have one-on-one time right now with our Lord. Father, we love you, we thank you, we bless your name. Lord, I pray for every person here. Father, we want to draw closer to you. Lord, please don't let us stay in our sins. Touch, heal, deliver, move. Father, anyone who needs to be saved, receive salvation today. Anyone who needs to rededicate, may they do it now. Lord, give them the power, the courage to step out by faith. Father, for what you do, we give you praise. We love you. We ask it in Jesus' name, Amen.
Guest (Male): For 1,000 years, the devil, the beast, and the false prophet are confined. What an incredibly peaceful time it will be. No deception or antagonism, and the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord. Thank you, Dr. Coleman, for reminding us about the judgment seat of Christ and the great white throne judgment and the challenge to be certain that our names are in the Lamb's Book of Life, and to be certain also to take every opportunity to share God's love with others.

About Roche Coleman Ministries: The Infusion Broadcast
The mission of The Roche Coleman Ministries and the Infusion Television and Radio broadcasts is to provide Biblical teaching that inspires listeners to remember the Lord provides strength for life’s journey.
Isaiah 40:28-29 is the impetus for the ministry as the prophet reminds God’s covenant people of the Lord’s provision:
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.”
After Israel endured exile, they were weary from the journey. The Lord would empower them to endure the hardship and reach their destiny.
