God's Power Can Break Any Stronghold-b
FBTB101B - From Bondage to Breakthrough - Part 2
Dr. Roche Coleman: You have to stop constructing other strongholds in your life and you have to listen to the words of our Lord because not only we have the origin of these strongholds, the purpose of them are to take control of territory in your life. You see the stronghold for the New Testament believer is not physical. In the Old Testament He gave those buildings, those cities, those fortresses as a visual for the people to see. In the New Testament He gives them metaphorically for us to understand the symbolism that they saw in the Old Testament.
And just as those buildings they were taking territory, we have to understand that the enemy comes in our lives and the enemy wants to take territory. He wants to control various aspects of your life. He wants to control your thinking. He wants to control your finances. He wants to control your family, your friendship. He wants to control everything in your world and he wants to turn it and make it convoluted and he wants to create it for his purpose and not to bring God glory. The only way that we get deliverance is we understand what God has said in His word.
Thank you for tuning in today to join us on the Infusion Broadcast with the Roche Coleman Ministries. Maybe you've experienced getting stuck in a situation that has no promising outcomes. We feel helpless and wonder how we'll get through. Many are spiritually stuck due to sin and find the strongholds or walls closing in to keep them in that situation, especially through the lies of Satan who will do anything to keep us from reconciling with God. With an urgency, Dr. Coleman brings this message so that many can walk in freedom. Let's listen as he brings part two of the message, God's Power can Shatter Any Stronghold.
Dr. Roche Coleman: And if you're not careful, you will find yourself in unhealthy habits and in an unhealthy and unproductive rhythm. And the Lord is here to correct your rhythm to get you on a path where you can live a liberated life in the name of Jesus. Anybody believe that today? You see, so often we just don't believe that God can do it for us, but God is here and He can do it for you.
And so what many of us believe is that we have these natural strongholds in our lives that we can't overcome. Well, my mom and dad did it and my grandma and granddad did it, my uncle did it, so I guess I'm going to do it. The devil is a lie. Did y'all hear me? The devil is a lie because that's the lie from the devil. And remember in Genesis chapter three, I love this, it's a beautiful, beautiful moment and so many people miss this, watch.
Genesis chapter three, we're in the Garden of Eden. The man and the woman they have partaken from the fruit, eaten, and all of a sudden now they are hiding and concealing themselves. They take the leaves and they're hiding and running from the presence of God. God strolls into the garden. God calls for the man. Where are you? What you doing? He says, "I was naked and so I was hiding." God said, "Who told you that? Who told you that you couldn't be set free from whatever stronghold you were born with?"
Who told you that God didn't have the power to deliver you? Who told you that God couldn't set you free? Who told you that you could not be the head instead of the tail? Who told you that God would not bless you going out and in your coming? Who told you that God would not make a way? Who told you that? Where did you hear that from? Because God did not say that. My God said we are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus. That's what my God said. My God said I'm a very present help in your time of trouble. He says call upon me.
He says, "Who told you?" See, you've been listening to the wrong voice. You have accepted a few failures as being final. And I'm here to tell you that though a righteous man may fall seven times, the Lord is always there to lift you up out of your situation. Anybody know God is there to do it? Listen to me, some of you've been falling, you're stumbling and some of you right now you walked in but you're really laying down. You walked in but really you were laying down the whole time when you walked up in here. Some of you logged on, same thing. You logged on and but you are in the pit of pits, the darkest of the darkest. But the Lord is here to deliver you from your stronghold. He is, if you let Him.
You gotta stop constructing other strongholds in your life and you have to listen to the words of our Lord because not only we have the origin of these strongholds, the purpose of them are to take control of territory in your life.
I want you to see this, stay with me. The Apostle Paul has already told them, he says some of you are saying that I'm not courageous and that we walk according to the flesh. The flesh is the natural man that is life lived apart from the Holy Spirit. He says that's what you're saying, he says but that is not us. Paul says in verse three, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh." Circle "war" right there please. He says we don't war because what you and I have to always understand and remember is that the Christian life is a war.
And this is point three, how do we destroy these strongholds? What is the key for destruction of strongholds? One of the things we have to understand is this, is that the stronghold is going to cause us to be in a full all out war. It's a battle, baby. It's a battle. I mean, it's dirty, grimy. You're giving blows, taking a blow. You're being knocked down, you're knocking down, you're getting back up. I mean, it's clothes tattered. I mean, just in a brawl. Have you ever been in one of those fights where you're just going at it? And when you stop you're like, man, I thought they were going to kill me in there. That's the spiritual life.
Let me tell you something, the Christian life is not cute, dainty, and sweet and nice. Anything but. It's war. And whenever you have a war there's always going to be carnage, calamity, bloodshed. Some will not make it. But that is the Christian life. And this is how Paul described it. I love this, it's beautiful. Look at the stuff he says. He said we walk in the flesh, he said because we're human we live, we have fleshly bodies. He said but when we fight, he said we're not fighting with our hands. He said we're not fighting this war from the natural perspective. He says, no, he said we fight with the spirit of God and with His power.
So often we are trying to get the victory but we're using the wrong weapons. It's like taking a knife to a gunfight. You're not going to win. And so what happens is that we are trying to provide solutions and answers to problems to strongholds but we're using human and fleshly answers and responses.
When I was in college had a good buddy of mine he was one of my roommates and got out of college and we got out of college, he got addicted to cocaine. And I remember when we met one time we were talking and I was like, man, how'd you get addicted to cocaine? I said that's another level. Cost, addiction. I'm like, cocaine, whenever you're talking about cocaine and crack, I'm like dude, that's another level. I shouldn't have said this but I did because I was reasoning from the flesh. I said man, you know we drink and smoke a little weed but cocaine, that's just a little too far.
Now we're just talking, this is not, I wasn't speaking from scripture, this is just buddies talking. And I am not endorsing drinking nor smoking weed. I have to say that because I know people. Well the pastor said, no I did not say that. Not even for medicinal purposes, I'm against it all. Don't smoke it, you don't know what's in it. Don't smoke, don't do drugs. Listen to me, and I was like hey man, I'm trying to reason with him and I'm giving him all the reasons why this is unhealthy for him. You're stealing from your girl, man. You're taking her car, man. You can't stay employed. You're blowing through money. Man, this has got to stop, man. What's going on?
And I'm trying to give him human flesh answers for a war that's going to take the power of God to set him free. Listen to me close, some of you are dealing with addictions right now and you're saying how am I going to get over this? The only way you're going to get over it is the power of God. Hate, anger, resentfulness, bitterness, it's going to take the power of God to set you free. Don't go back to this is the natural way I am, I was born this way. I don't care how you was born, it doesn't mean you have to die that way.
Whatever you're battling, food, gluttony, gossip, whatever, God is here to set you free. But so many of us we have become comfortable where we are. We're just happy. We're enjoying the pleasures of sin. One of the things I'm convinced of right now that the spirit of God is doing, those of you who are sitting here and listening, for those of you online as well, the spirit of God is speaking to your heart. You see God is a revealer. Listen closely, listen close, listen, stay with me.
And when you hear the word of God, when you read the word of God, you see the spirit of God is like light in the darkness. It illuminates in your mind and shows you and it says you need to change this. Now some of you either you're going to agree with the spirit of God right now and say Lord you are right, I agree. You're going to make a note and you're going to write and say Lord I want to see deliverance, I want to overcome this. I'm believing you to do this right now. Some of you will do that. But some of you will press the mute button. You will ignore and you will say no, I'm not that bad. I'm not as bad as, you're not comparing yourself to your neighbor, to your cousin or your brother, you are comparing yourself to the words of our Lord.
And if you want deliverance, it's here. It's here. Doesn't mean we don't stumble, we don't struggle, of course we do. Yeah, that's part of it. But you don't stay down. Think with me right now the person who you are listening to those negative thoughts, I want you to listen to me and stay with me because I'm pretty much done here. I want you to listen, think about this. The Christian walk is always described as the life that is growing and it is always compared to and paralleled the life of a child.
We are born as infants in Christ Jesus. Why does the writers of scripture use the imagery of a child? It is because a child does not come here fully mature. The child is born totally dependent upon another. The child grows and as the child grows, the child first has to scoot and then crawl. And in the process of scooting, crawling, growing and getting to the point of walking, what does a child do? Fall, stumble and get injured. But what happens to the normal healthy child? He does not stay down when he falls, he gets up. He falls again but he gets back up and eventually he's doing the drunk man walk, but then before you know he's standing upright. That is the Christian life. You're going to stumble, you're going to fall, you're going to bump your head but you gotta keep getting back up and progressing forward. And it's the same way with the strongholds in your life.
You can't quit. You gotta keep calling on the name of the Lord and asking the Lord to give you strength to overcome. Some of you here and this is going to help you and you're going to be delivered from this. Some of you your lives will be radically transformed today if you receive this. But there's some of you going to walk right out of here the same way you walked in, just as angry, mean and bitter. Same condition, just as immature in your spiritual growth, not going anywhere with the Lord, not doing anything for the kingdom. You're going to walk out of here the way you walked in, you're going to log off the way you logged on.
You're going to wake up one day and realize that you missed your opportunity to bring glory to your God. It's your choice. God says I set before you good and evil, make a decision. I set before you deliverance and the stronghold, make your choice. But he tells us we are not walking and winning by fleshly tools. It's going to take the power of God.
As we close today, I want to ask you a question, do you want God to set you free? Seriously, do you, is there anything or anybody in your life, anything anybody that do you really want God to move? We're going to pray and we're going to ask God to do it for you. Maybe there's someone you know you say, "Lord, I need you to do this in their life." We're going to pray and we're going to believe God to do it. I just believe in the power of our God.
And I want you to be no different. I want you to leave out of this sanctuary today with a level of joy, excitement and anticipation, a level of hope that maybe you haven't had before in a long time. I want you to have it. Why? Because it's available. I'm so tired of receiving texts and calls of people saying, "I'm suicidal. I've lost hope. I'm tired." And I'm telling you the reason why you are in that place is because you have not been dwelling in the presence of God.
You're going to have to change some habits. You're going to have to change your associations. You're going to have to log off your phones and your tablets and your computers. You're going to have to stop comparing yourself to those people lying on social media. They're lying. Look, lies. Don't believe nothing. Don't believe it, man. It's hilarious to me. They're in a five by seven, put a fake wall up, lights and making you think this. Hey man, don't believe it. You're comparing yourself to the wrong standard.
If you get amongst the people of God, you start meditating upon the word of God and you start calling upon His name, you will start feeling the hope. It would change your perspective and you would see your purpose that God has given you, your new identity in Christ Jesus. But I'm going to tell you something, it's not going to happen until you decide that you want to change your circumstances. It's up to you. The Lord is here.
I want to pray for you. Parents, I'm going to challenge you to do something. Get your kids off social media as much as you can. Their poor minds are so saturated with this nonsense and that's why a lot of them have this toxic ideology about life. Make them play. Let them drink water from the spicket. Let them stay outside, let them have some fun, let them get some air. Make them leave those phones. Turn the WiFi off. It'll change their perspective.
I want to pray for you and I'm going to ask God to do something. Now listen to me, when we go to prayer here as I close, listen, I want you to listen. For those online listen, listen closely. If you really want God to do something, I want you to go to Him in prayer right now and we're going to ask God to give you deliverance. Deliverance might not be for you, might be for somebody you know. Whatever, we're going to ask God to do it. Let's watch God's power manifest.
Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Father, we need you and we are calling upon you. Lord, you said in your word that if we asked we would receive. Lord, we're asking. There are those here they're asking for something special for a move of your spirit, for a revelation, Lord, for you to provide, for you to meet them. Lord, they're asking and we're asking collectively. And Lord, if you don't move, Lord, how can we find deliverance? But God, you are our source. There is no other.
And Father God, there are people here who need a breakthrough. Don't allow them to leave the sanctuary the way they walked in. Oh God, please whisper, remind them of your awesome love, your power and your presence. And Lord, provide for what they need. Please God. Lord, we call upon you because there is no other help. Lord, we're like Jonah when he was in the whale, Lord, and he called upon you. When Peter found himself incarcerated, he called upon you. Father, and we too are calling upon you. We need you, Lord God, to open the blinded eyes, to make a way, Lord, where we don't see a way, to be the light on our path. Lord, do it for your people, everyone here, those logged on. Father, do it in the name of Jesus. And Lord, for what you do we give you praise, glory and honor. We love you. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen. Let's give the Lord a handclap of praise.
Guest (Male): That's so true. The Christian life isn't sweet and cute and dainty. We're in a war. And the enemy of our souls wants as much territory in our minds and lives as he can get. He does so with deception that he continually feeds us. But praise God that His power sets us free. Thank you, Pastor Coleman, for that powerful word and challenge to cry out to God.
Now as we often do, we want to remind you of the importance of being part of a local church. We hope you're in one or will find one close to where you live and ensure that it's doctrinally sound. If you live in Houston, we hope you'll visit the Impact Church of the Woodlands where Dr. Coleman is the senior pastor. It's a vibrant and growing church and there are ministries for every age group that you could plug into. Sunday worship times are 8:00 and 10:45 AM and it's located at 5401 Shadowbend Place, the Woodlands, Texas. We hope you'll stop by this weekend.
As we close, remember our impact thought is: Get amongst God's people, meditate on His word and call on His name. Let's believe in the power of our God and choose to live a life of joy, expectation, excitement and hope as we allow Him to occupy every area in our lives.

About Roche Coleman Ministries: The Infusion Broadcast
The mission of The Roche Coleman Ministries and the Infusion Television and Radio broadcasts is to provide Biblical teaching that inspires listeners to remember the Lord provides strength for life’s journey.
Isaiah 40:28-29 is the impetus for the ministry as the prophet reminds God’s covenant people of the Lord’s provision:
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power.”
After Israel endured exile, they were weary from the journey. The Lord would empower them to endure the hardship and reach their destiny.
