The most effective way to remember something is to speak it and to do it.  It is important, as followers of Christ, that we find new believers who desire to grow in their relationship with the Lord and disciple them, but on the condition that they will go further to disciple others and so on.  The call of Christ is for us to take up our cross and follow Him.  As we follow Him, we are to bring others along with us, speaking and doing all that Christ taught so that we may all be on the same page.

Jesus made it very clear that as believers, each of us is a light in the world. The problem is that many hide their light. If you are willing to embrace your identity as a light in the world, you have to be willing for God to put you in a place where your light will shine brightly. That often means that whatever is in your life that you may have tried hiding will come out into the open, but the good news is that God uses those broken pieces to show His glory and grace through you to others. However, while God uses our brokenness, it is still important that, as a light shining in a dark world, we deny temptations and continue in good works so that others may see and glorify our Father in Heaven.

The Devil draws many into believing his lies that this life is all there is, but the reality is that there is life after this life.  Heaven and Hell are reality’s after either we die on this earth or Jesus comes for us.  This life can become very wearisome and we may question why we are still here, but God still has work to do in us and through us.  As long as we keep our faith and hope in the reality that is to come, we can have the strength to finish out the things God has placed us on this earth to do until He calls us home.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
