Sick & Tired

When Jesus walked the earth He healed many people and taught His disciples to do the same. God wants to use us to do His work, so without knowing His purposes it is important to obey Him in whatever He calls us to do. When we respond to Him with trust and obedience in small stuff, He will use us for bigger things.

God is capable of doing seemingly impossible things, and He wants to do those things in and through us. When we surrender our will and choose to obey whatever He tells us to do, we experience first hand His amazing power that brings about miraculous blessings.

It is easy to compare ourselves to others, whether by outward appearance or difficult circumstances, and we tend to question God. Just as the pot cannot question the potter, we must trust God that He has a plan and purpose for how our life is and instead of comparing we can willingly allow Him to use us however He pleases.

God gives us the opportunity to return to Him no matter how far we’ve wandered. He has promised that Jesus will return for us one day, and whether it be we get to go with Him or we leave this earth before then, we can hold onto the hope that we will be in Heaven with Him forever and we should bring as many people with us as we can.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is the only way to get to God. As Christians, it is our job to spread the message of the Gospel and help others put together the pieces of their life in accordance with Christ. We must make sure that we are ready to give a reason for the hope that we have when an opportunity presents itself.

The difference between Jesus and other earthly kings is that He was never made to be a king at some point in His life, He was born the King of Kings. When we accept His gift of salvation that He gave His life to pay for, we are submitting our lives to Him to let Him lead us through every decision each day.

When we choose to believe that God can accomplish anything He says He wants to do, we get to watch the impossible take place. When He gives us the faith to believe in Him, His Holy Spirit resides in us and we can share the good news of salvation with the world in the midst of any trying circumstance.

Jesus was shown to be raised in three different ways in Scripture; the first with His parents in His childhood, the second when the guards raised Him on the cross, and the third when God raised Him from the dead. We must look to Him to be saved and tell others to do the same.

At some point we have to choose to believe what the Bible says no matter how crazy it may sound because God has perfectly orchestrated the story of salvation laid out in Scripture. When we believe and become Christians, we become born again and God lives inside of us and everyone around us should be able to see that.

God has offered the most valuable gift of salvation and all we have to do is accept it. Once we are saved we can give our lives to God for Him to use however He pleases. His presence is the greatest gift and we can look forward to one day being in His presence forever.
December 19, 2016
We live out our purpose in life of glorifying God especially when He becomes more important to us than anything else. We become dead to sin, meaning the temptation can no longer effect us. Ultimately when we die, we have nothing to fear because we will be with Christ forever.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
