The devil has blatantly stated that he is after us to steal, kill and destroy the life that God has planned for us. When our salvation is already secured, we must resist temptation, take up our cross and follow Jesus to experience the abundant life He has promised. Nothing the world has to offer is worth settling for over what God has offered us already.

A motley crew is a group of people who are very different from one another. We need to realize that the Kingdom of God is a motley crew, and knowing this should help us reach out to others around us no matter how different they seem. We may all be different from one another but we, as believers, all have one purpose and that is to fulfill the work of God.

God has designed the marriage relationship to be intimate and set apart then all other relationships. When a wife sees something in her husband that she wants to change, rather than nagging him about it she needs to pray about it. A husband’s responsibility is to take care of his wife before he approaches God to ask for anything.

Without Christ working in us we are all bound to a life of sin and consequences that could’ve been avoided had we heeded wise instruction from Scripture. Rather than living childish lives that run after the pleasures of the world, we need to submit to God and allow Him to change us from the inside out.

If our relationship with God is not working out then any other relationship we have, our marriage relationship specifically, will not work out for long. No matter what difficulty we face, if we turn to God and let Him work in our situation, nothing is impossible for Him to redeem and cover in grace and love.

Every marriage has moments of struggle, but God can take a relationship that seems impossible and turn it around to be filled with love and joy. The commitment in marriage is until death and God will give us the strength we need to make it through the difficult times if we ask Him.
June 17, 2020
Marriage is not a commitment to be taken lightly but rather a choice to stick with one person for the rest of our lives. This means that we give up looking around or comparing other people and we focus on what God has given us and take all joy and satisfaction in it.

It is important that we discuss the possibilities around facing health complications and making the commitment to stick with one another in a marriage relationship. If the time comes that we are caring for the other, we must take the time to reassure them that we love them and we’re not going anywhere.

The Christian life only begins with giving our lives to Christ and it is continued in and through us every day. We cannot live it out by ourselves which is why God designed the Church so that we could do this together.

While hardships can be used as a time to strengthen a marriage relationship, sometimes we have the option of avoiding financial difficulty if we would just make wise decisions. When we trust God for His provision and be good stewards of what He gives us, we can live in peace and contentment.

A reality of life is that tragic things can happen, and marriages can take a hit when trials come. In those times, we must make a decision on whether or not we will cling to God and to each other or if we will let it all go.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
