The Bible clearly states that we are slaves, but the master is up to us. You can choose to be a slave to sin, allowing the devil to run your life, or you can be a slave to God and live in obedience. Even when you disobey God, His grace is still extended to you and sometimes that comes through consequence.

There are people in this world that have no idea that there is a spiritual battle going on for their soul and they live wickedly, allowing the devil to win. We must put on the armor of God and fight for them, telling them passionately about God’s love and His offer for salvation.

The story of Daniel in the lion’s den is just one example of a man’s obedience to God even when it potentially cost him his life. God may not always rescue you like He did Daniel, but your obedience to Him will be rewarded in eternity.

You cannot manufacture the presence of God. His Spirit fills His people and that is what attracts people to church, not the beauty of the building. May His Spirit be so evident in us so that when we are together people will say, “God is in that house.”

It is easy to cast others off that we do not like, get along with, or may even be repulsed by. However, Jesus commanded that we love one another without excuses. When we love others we show the world the love that God has for them and we can love them because He loves us.

Rather than trying to conquer your biggest sin struggle at once, try focusing on the small stuff and overcoming those things. Once you begin to win it starts a snowball effect and eventually you will overcome the big stuff with God’s help.

When we choose to follow Jesus we have to make sacrifices in our lives in order to obey Him. Regardless of your past or what other people may be doing, if you say you love Jesus and will follow Him then follow through.

When you become a Christian it is your responsibility to tell others about Jesus. This may mean that you have to enter uncomfortable situations, but it is more important to obey Him than to be comfortable.

Just as a parent is pleased when a child obeys them and desires to do things for them, God is pleased when we obey and serve Him. When you life your life to please God, you will be amazed by the ways He uses you to touch others and rewards you all the while.

The Bible says that we must do what we’re told and it is not until we obey that what we told makes any impact. If you are struggling with knowing what to do when you read Scripture, ask God to help you truly hear what it says and then respond in obedience.
