Net Prophet

Truly following Christ requires us to cast a net out for others to lead them to Him as well. When we tell others about Him, we must also teach them how to follow Him or else it does not make a difference for them to have the knowledge without the relationship.

God promises to supply all of our needs and has cared for His people throughout history. Jesus teaches that we have more than physical needs, and the only way to nourish our spiritual needs is through Him.

Whether we are holding onto our own mistakes from the past or the hurt caused by someone else’s actions towards us, we need to let it go and move on. God can bring people into our lives to help us sort through our baggage, but we have to be willing to empty it out.

Jesus gave us a good example of what it looks like to go outside of the box. Obedience to God draws us outside of our comfortable box so that He may be glorified and His name may be made known to others.

The Bible is full of instances where men and women chose to obey God in spite of serious consequences. When we choose to obey God, He promises to be with us through whatever fire we may face.

The Bible tells us that all of the pleasures of this world will never fix our own brokenness. Only God can change us from the inside out, and we must obey the things He commands to allow Him to give our lives purpose and meaning.

Joseph in the New Testament was an average guy who decided to obey God and became Jesus’ step-father. When we become Christians we are no longer “average Joes” and only human. The moment we become believers God lives in us through His Holy Spirit and directs us to do His work.

In the Old Testament, God’s people learned that when they went out to face battles on their own they were always met with defeat. When they began to praise God before the battle, keep their eyes on Him and follow His instructions no matter how crazy they seemed, they would always be led into victory.

The inevitable truth is that all of us are going to die, but not all of us are sure of what happens to us after death. We can be certain of our salvation and that we will be in heaven because of Christ’s sacrifice to take on the payment of our sins. As the sand falls in our hourglass of a lifetime, our death wish should be to be with Jesus forever in heaven, as well as wishing that same fate for all those we know.

The worry that we often feel is a result of our lack of trust in God. When we live our lives choosing to trust Him, rejoicing in whatever circumstances, His peace that is supernatural guards us from anxiety.

In the Old Testament God commanded His people to love Him with all their heart, soul and strength. Jesus took it to the next step by adding that we must love others as we love ourselves. The only way this will work is if we love God and understand His love for us so that we can love ourselves and then others in the same way. When we love this way, we show proof that we are His disciples.
