Millstones to Milestones

The only way to truly make a difference in the world is to be discipled in order to disciple others. Our lives are marked by millstones and milestones. Millstones are moments of our life where we have made a tragic mistake, something that continually weighs us down and may hinder our growth. Milestones are those monumental times that something great has happened. When we are discipled by another, they can help our millstones turn into milestones so that we can then help others who in turn will help others, and on down the line expanding the Kingdom of God.

During the Holocaust, concentration camps were located in or by cities and the people who lived in those cities turned their heads and did nothing out of fear of being A-social, against society. Nowadays, millions of murders take place and we find ourselves turning our heads and doing nothing. We may say that we believe that abortion is wrong, yet the truth of the matter is that what we believe in is what we do something about. Our hollow concern about abortions going on around us has a tragic cost to the unborn. Rather than standing by and ignoring the issue, as Christians we are to stand up and fight for what is right however God shows us to fight and no longer allow millions of deaths to occur without the slightest inclination that it is a human life.

There is no counting system with God; He requires first time obedience. When God tells you to do something and you disobey, there will be consequences. If you are living in disobedience and not experiencing consequences, you should question if you are part of His family because God disciplines His children. No matter what else is going on in our lives, God may ask us to do something outside of the norm of going to church and reading the Bible, and when He asks us we need to immediately respond in obedience.
