We are either being used by God or being used by the devil. It is our choice to obey what God is calling us to do, no matter how dirty our hands get in the process. When we choose to not be used by Him we are allowing ourselves to be used by the devil to destroy ourselves or others.

God’s Spirit takes residence inside of our bodies when we accept His salvation and submit our lives to Him. When He’s running the show, that means we no longer get to live the way we want to live and do whatever we want to do. He’s the owner now, and we live under His control until He takes us home to Heaven and gives us a new eternal body.

When we choose to follow Jesus we have to make sacrifices in our lives in order to obey Him. Regardless of the past or what other people may be doing, if we say we love Jesus and will follow Him then we must follow through.

Women are tempted in many ways and can also tempt men. Rather than giving into the world’s temptations we need to focus on what God has given us at our home or job or wherever else and be the person He has called us to be.

Men and women in the dating scene need to look for someone who has Christ living in them and through them because it is only in Christ that anyone can have His characteristics. When Christ lives in you, it is possible to combat the sin struggles and overcome them because you are no longer only human.

Just as a parent is pleased when a child obeys them and desires to do things for them, God is pleased when we obey and serve Him. When you live your life to please God, you will be amazed by the ways He uses you to touch others and rewards you all the while.

When you become a Christian it is your responsibility to tell others about Jesus. This may mean that you have to enter uncomfortable situations, but it is more important to obey Him than to be comfortable.

Paul wrote in the Bible about singleness being a gift from God because it frees a person up to be able to have no care in this world and instead serve God wholeheartedly. However, he also addressed that those who are gifted with marriage can and should serve God with their lives as well. If a person is going to get married, it is important that they know the person they are marrying also desires to serve the Lord.

Jesus was the fulfilling sacrifice to appease God’s wrath for all of our sin, and it is His blood that washes us completely clean. Since we are forgiven of our sins we can now run in such a way as to win the prize in Heaven where Jesus will put a crown on our heads that we can take off to place at His feet.

We are naturally drawn to a great number of sins that lead us to an uncontrolled state of life. When we live under God’s reign and rule, He grows in us the fruit of His Spirit that gives us the ability and power to control the sinful tendencies of the flesh.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
