I Believe Your Truth

No matter what anyone chooses to believe as truth for themselves, the fact is that there is only one real truth and it’s a person. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is revealed to us by the Holy Spirit, and when we are brought into this truth we must be bold to speak it lovingly to the world around us.

We have a constant war inside of us between the flesh and the Holy Spirit. The flesh goes along with any temptation and tells us it’s something we need. The Holy Spirit, however, gives us the strength to resist temptation and live a holy life which is the only kind worth living.

The devil uses everything in this world to pull our desires and attention away from God, and sometimes it doesn’t take much for him to succeed. We must keep our focus on heaven, knowing that life in Christ offers more than we could ever obtain from the world.

We all have sin in our lives that we would rather ignore than get rid of, just like a jug of sour milk that stays in the fridge. But God is our provider and will never let us be empty. He is simply waiting for us to pour out our sour milk so that He can pour out His blessings on our lives.

The Old Testament is filled with laws and stories about God commanding His people to do certain things that don’t make sense to us. Ultimately, God’s commands lined up things for Jesus to be put to death many years later so that we can all be saved. We may not get it, but we still must trust God.

Men are naturally attracted to sex, but the right kind of man will be able to overlook the enticing temptations and hold out for true beauty. If a woman wants to end up with the right kind of man, she needs to stop dressing in a way to attract the wrong kind and allow God to work on her internally to become more and more beautiful in a way that’s lasting.

The story of Rahab shows a woman who seemed like a nobody yet her faith in God and His promise through a couple spies saved her and her whole family. God can use any of us, no matter what our background is like, to reach others and extend His promise of salvation to those who will believe.

It’s easy to get so involved in our own lives that we overlook those who are spiritually dying around us. When we submit our lives to God we can have eyes to see who needs to be cared for and have compassion on them that moves us to action.

Not everyone who hears the Gospel believes it, but the truth is that we will all end up in eternity either in Heaven or Hell. When God gives us the faith to believe this crazy Gospel story, we must tell it over and over to all those around us and trust Him to help them believe.

There are certain sins in our life that we find ourselves entangled in. The Bible says that we are dead to sin yet we do not live that way day to day. Rather than sinning as much as we can knowing that God will forgive us, we need to acknowledge that there are consequences to our sin and we need to live lives of obedience and faithfulness to God.

As followers of Christ we are all called to be witnesses and give testimony to what God has done in our lives with others. The Bible tells us that if we are not reaching out to others and witnessing, we are not following Christ close enough.
