Hell Incorporated

June 24, 2015
We are all born as sinners, basically working for hell in which the payment is death. The only way that we can get out of that job is to switch over by accepting God’s free gift of salvation, which gives us life. Jesus has already taken our payment of death on Himself to give us this opportunity, but we just have to receive it.

Rather than getting upset that everyone goes to Heaven as long as they make Jesus their Lord and Savior, whether it be at the beginning or end of life, we need to just be grateful that God has accepted us in the first place. He doesn’t do things because they are fair but rather for the purpose of His own glory.

The Bible talks about the importance of giving money to the poor and caring for the widows and orphans. While it is not impossible for a rich person to serve God, when a poor person gives of their finances it is a big sacrifice and puts them into a position of trusting God’s provision.

The Bible teaches us that when we become believers, it’s not about acting like Jesus but rather having Jesus live inside of us. We can allow Him to work in our lives so that someday we can be perfect just as our Heavenly Father is perfect. In order to imitate God like Scripture teaches, we need to know Him by having an intimate relationship with Him.

The kind of dad that sets a good example for his kids is a dad that models after our Heavenly Father. These kinds of dads know that it is necessary to continually direct their kids to the Lord because only God is perfect. It is important that dads not only tell their kids things, but model these things for their kids so that they’ll be respected and not be seen as a hypocrite.

The Bible speaks often of fathers imparting wisdom to their sons, and not only biological fathers but also spiritual fathers. Discipleship is a key part of living in a biblical community, and specifically men need to look for younger men to foster and help grow their relationship with God.

God has designed the marriage relationship to be intimate and set apart then all other relationships. When a wife sees something in her husband that she wants to change, rather than nagging him about it she needs to pray about it. A husband’s responsibility is to take care of his wife before he approaches God to ask for anything.

Instead of doing whatever we want to do and waiting to ask for forgiveness, we need to go to our Heavenly Father and ask what He thinks about our actions and decisions. As our Father, He loves us and wants what’s best for us, so when He says no it’s because He wants to protect us, but He will always say yes to what He knows is the best for us.

The world is in great need of not only good men, but godly men. When we are seeking God and growing in our relationship with Him, we create an example for others to see and follow.

The Bible warns us that the devil is constantly attacking us with the intention of devouring us. We must be in prayer for ourselves and others while also delving into Scripture and putting on the full armor of God for protection.

Following God is not something that is supposed to be burning us out. While God works in and through us, He also gives us spiritual rest and carries our burdens. We need to stop trying to carry them all ourselves and work ourselves crazy, but instead step back and find the complete spiritual rest that God offers to us.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
