Jesus modeled for us what it looks like to be a servant leader. We must follow His example and be willing to serve anyone and everyone, preparing them as they grow spiritually to do the same.

Jesus said that He is preparing a place for us in Heaven and we will either join Him when our body dies here on earth or when He comes to get us. For believers, Heaven is our true home, but those who do not believe will not enter. Do not waste time on earth, believe and do the work God has for you to do while you still can.

When Jesus died on the cross He made it possible for us to have freedom to choose God as our master. You will either be a slave to Him or a slave to sin, but you must make the choice.

No matter what kind of father you have had on earth, God loves you as His own child and wants a personal relationship with you. He loves you enough to have sent His own Son to die so that you could have that relationship, personal and intimate enough to call Him “Daddy.”

Jesus said that He came so that we may live life to the fullest. God has a plan for each one of us but it is only when we get up and move, accepting His plan and begin living for Him that we actually experience this full life that He promised.

Fathers are called to be examples to their children of the Heavenly Father, but not in their own strength. A father is in a way a middle man to teach the child to lean on God. Jesus is also the middle man for us, and it is through Him that we can have God as our Heavenly Father.

Jesus was put up on a cross so that all who look to Him and believe may be saved. As followers of Christ we are also fishers of men and therefore must tell others who have been inflicted with the deadly wound of sin nature to look to Christ, find life and be saved.

People learn best when they can see and hear someone else, then do the same things themselves. Jesus tells us that we need to make disciples and so as we do that, we must teach them to do the same thing.

Too many people believe whatever they hear instead of looking for truth themselves. Godly men and women are those who seek out the Scripture and have a foundation set on God so that nothing that comes their way will tip them from what they know to be true.

God can not only see us all the time but He knows our thoughts, and if you’re a Christian He is in you all the time. He wants you to trust Him but He also wants to be able to trust you as a parent trusts their growing child. Don’t put on a show to look good, but truly live out a life pleasing to God.

The reality of life is that troubles will come. God has designed His Church to be full of people who can comfort each other during those times. He can work in us and through us so that His goals are accomplished in spite of difficult situations.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
