Just as a horse must be tamed in order to be useable by an owner, we must allow God to tame us in order to be used by Him. The more we resist Him, the more suffering must come in the process of breaking us in.

The Bible teaches us that we will reap consequences when we sow seeds of sin, but when we sow seeds of righteousness we will have great reward. We have an opportunity to plant seeds in the hearts of each person we encounter and we should choose to plant seeds of the Gospel.

Cheating in any relationship is always accompanied by guilt and shame that makes the cheating not ever worth it. Cheating is not always done through a physical act, but it starts in the heart. When we say that we love God, we must make sure that our hearts are completely loyal to Him and not straying.

Jesus offers to live in us forever, giving us eternal life, and we must respond with obedience to the things He tells us to do. Although He may have us go places that are difficult, it’s better that we face those challenges with Him instead of face the inevitable trials of life without Him.

Jesus said that we, as His followers, are the light of the world, but we must shine brightly in such a way that draws others out of darkness and into His light. When we let go of the sins that hold us back, we can run the race that God has set before us without distraction, lights out and fully focused on the eternal prize.

It is easy to criticize someone in authority, however the Bible teaches us to pray for them instead. No person that has been placed in authority has been put there outside of God’s sovereignty and we must honor their authority while praying for God to work in and lead their heart and decisions.

There are numerous stories in the Bible of people who made some big mistakes and yet God still used them to accomplish His work in the world. While it’s important that we do not continue to live in sin, there is nothing that we can do that God can’t turn around and use for His glory.

God created men and women equally, but to fulfill different roles. When we come to Jesus and are born again, He makes us a new creation that we can walk confidently in following His call on our lives. Rather than staying on the fence and holding our sin while trying to hold on to Jesus at the same time, we need to let go of our sin and fully live for Him.

The only place that can ever truly have the claim that “what happens here stays here” is the foot of the cross. When we accept Christ’s forgiveness and love, we leave our old selves behind and we become new creations. We must never forget that bad seed produces bad fruit no matter where we plant it, and good seed produces good fruit no matter how long it takes to grow.

Just as onions are made up of many layers, each individual person has layers themselves. In the Church, it is essential that we put aside our differences and look past all the “onion rings” of each person and love them because God loves them.

There is a very big difference between someone who is a father and someone who fathers. Rather than simply adopting us into His family and letting us be, God desires a continued growing father/child relationship. Jesus tells us to ask our Father for all that we need and He will provide it. We must never forget to thank Him for the gifts that He gives.
