We all have sin in our lives that we may think is a secret but eventually it will be made known. God doesn’t want to just fix our behavior but He wants to grow in relationship with Him so that we are changed from the inside out.

Jesus showed an example of what it means to not only be an outcast but to reach out to other outcasts. When we stand up for God, we may be rejected by other people, but we can take confidence in knowing that God has chosen us to be His and that’s what matters.

For some reason we think that we are in control of ourselves, our decisions, or even to some extent the result of an election. As Christians, we have the responsibility to live a godly life, and so that we must do. Unlike any material thing, God hears, sees, and understands our problems and it is Him who calls the shots, and His plan always prevails.

The Bible describes us as sheep under God as our Shepherd. He cares for us and provides for all of our needs. We must stick together and be watchful for those who come into the gathering of believers with the intent to steal, kill and destroy from the inside out.

God has blessed us all abundantly with life, salvation, and anything on top of that. We need to always look at the things and people that He’s given us and verbalize our gratitude to Him.

We are all born as slaves to sin, but God offers us the opportunity to be free. When we accept His forgiveness and freedom, we put ourselves under His care by becoming His slave, doing what He tells us to do because we know that He has our best interests in mind.

God designed His Church to be a community of believers that help each other grow. It is an immature attitude to try and do everything alone and God calls us to maturity, trying to wean us off of the spiritual milk so that we can chew on the solid food. We need help from others so that we can grow to help others.

The shame that we feel when we sin should lead us to repentance, and it is when we are repentant that God changes our hearts. The one thing we should never be ashamed of is God, and we should have the courage to stand up and speak about Him to all others around us.

It is impossible for us to truly love each other without God working in and through us. The Church is supposed to be a community of believers from all sorts of backgrounds loving and caring for one another. We need to let go of the individualistic mentality we all have and begin allowing God to love others through us.

God has shown us in Scripture that He can use anyone, no matter how much of a mess they’ve made in their life, for His glory and His plans. But when we feel like we are stepping out in obedience, we sometimes have to wrestle with God to get His blessing in what we’re doing. We cannot force Him to bless us, but we can hold on to a point where we are left with a scar to remember His work after His blessing.
August 23, 2018
Often times we spend too much time working to provide a certain lifestyle that we don’t necessarily need. Money is not a bad thing to have, but if we spend all of our time working for it rather than investing in relationships with our family and God then we are wasting our life.

About Richard Ellis

Authentic... Genuine... Sincere... This guy is the real deal. He loves God. He loves his wife Rebecca and his 3 daughters. He loves people. He loves his job. He loves Texas BBQ. He loves an occasional round of golf. And he loves the Dallas Cowboys (but don’t hold that against him!).

Richard grew up as a missionary kid in Brazil, coming back to the states to finish his education. He graduated from Baylor University in 1982 with a BA in Oral Communications, and earned his MDIV in 1985 from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, making him the sixth generation of pastors in his family. His early days of ministry included serving for three years as the Single Adults Pastor at the First Baptist Church of Dallas.

Then in 1997, Richard Ellis founded Reunion Church, a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, non-denominational church in the heart of Dallas,Texas. Dallas needed a church like it. And it would need a pastor like Richard. So Reunion Church was born. And now the radio show and the website (www.RichardEllisTalks.com) join the Reunion Church community under the leadership of this guy. And we’re all the better for it!
