Bonnie Sala: What do you do when you've prayed, worked hard, and the need is still greater than what's in your hands? I'm Bonnie Sala with Reset. Samuel woke before dawn to beat the morning crowds to the city. He had three job applications pending, a sick mother at home, and enough money for two more days. Every morning without fail, Samuel prayed. He was a faithful man, and yet the provision he needed felt stubbornly, painfully out of reach.

Samuel told his pastor, "I’m starting to wonder if God sees me." That question—honest, exhausted, and completely human—is one God has never once been offended by. The Bible doesn’t promise that faith produces comfort on our timeline. It promises something deeper. Jesus spoke to people who knew real hunger, real scarcity, and real uncertainty. That’s why He said to them, "Don’t worry about everyday life, whether you have enough food and drink or enough clothes to wear. Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?"

This isn’t a command to pretend the need isn’t real. Jesus invites you to shift your gaze from the size of the need to the nature of the God who sees it. There’s a woman in the Old Testament named Hagar, a servant, alone in the desert with a dying child. God met her there in the wilderness, and she gave God a name that has echoed through centuries: "You are the God who sees me."

That God has not changed. Samuel eventually found work, but he said later, "The peace came before the job did. That’s how I knew it was God."
