God’s Hall of Fame Isn’t Finished
The Bible tells stories of great faith long ago—but stories like Hannah’s—and yours are still being written right now.
Bonnie Sala: Have you ever visited a Hall of Fame? I'm Bonnie Sala with Reset. There are Halls of Fame for sports, music genres, academic achievement, even Walks of Fame with names embedded in the concrete. The Bible contains a chapter in the book of Hebrews, which some call the "Faithful Hall of Fame." It's filled with Bible superstars like Abraham and Moses, and surprise inductees like a prostitute named Rahab.
Scripture says, "Faith shows the reality of what we hope for. It is the evidence of things we cannot see." There are people today who cannot see a way through the difficulties they face, and yet they believe. People like a mother named Hannah. Hannah lives in a remote village in Central Asia and recently placed her faith in Jesus.
When her young son unknowingly took Christian materials to school, authorities discovered them, and Hannah and her children were arrested and questioned. Though intimidated, she didn't deny her faith. Afterward, she was rejected by relatives and forced to leave her village.
Later, the school principal invited her back and apologized, saying repeated dreams of a man in white convinced him he had wronged her. Hannah explained that the man was Jesus and shared her story with more than 100 teachers. Despite persecution, Hannah remains firm in her faith.
Hebrews chapter 11 says of the faithful, "Their weakness was turned to strength." Are you feeling full of weakness in your walk of faith today? The names in the Faithful Hall of Fame, the courage of Hannah, and your own story all point to the same truth: God turns ordinary faith into extraordinary strength. I'm Bonnie Sala.
