Bonnie Sala: What would it look like if God answered a prayer right before your eyes? I'm Bonnie Sala with Reset. Lee was visiting a country known for its restrictive freedoms when a young bilingual engineer named Kenny offered to guide him through a historic city. As they wandered narrow passageways and sampled street foods, Kenny explained that in his culture, people speak of an outer life: job, prosperity, family, and an inner life.

When the outer life goes well, the inner is ignored. When things fall apart, people look inward and find nothing. "God cannot help me in my outer life," Kenny said. Lee listened, then shared how God had done exactly that for him, helping him with the practical details of job, relationships, and finances, and that this same God wanted to make Himself known to Kenny, too.

A few hours later, Kenny realized he’d lost his government-issued ID somewhere. In this country, citizens must carry it at all times. Without the ID, he couldn’t travel or sit for the state exam for the new job he needed, both of which were scheduled within three days. A trip to the police station turned up nothing. Remembering that the Bible says, "Pray about everything. Tell God what you need and thank Him for all He has done," Lee asked if he could pray for Kenny right there. Kenny said yes.

That evening, Kenny texted Lee. "It's amazing," Kenny said. He had retraced his steps and found his ID on the ground. He attended a church service the next day. Kenny and Lee are still in touch, and Kenny now says he’s praying for Lee because it works.
