Christians aren’t to lead a Christian life alone. We’re to cling to the Lord, and be accountable to each other. A Christian is also one who perseveres through studying God’s Word. The Apostle Paul spent many years preparing for his ministry.

A Christian is, first of all, someone who preaches the Gospel. But, our preaching has little to do with our words, but how we live our lives. We often want to stay as comfortable and safe as possible. But, God’s intention is to send the church to places where there’s the greatest sin.

The Holy Spirit of the Old Testament had 2 functions, to convict people of their sin, and to come alongside people to point them to God. But, in the New Testament, we can see how the Holy Spirit is not only alongside us, He is in us the moment we become born again.

The Gentiles who are saved can also be filled with the Holy Spirit, and have the assurance that they are going to Heaven. The Holy Spirit is a gift with no distinctions. The Gentiles are included in all of God’s promises.

When the first church was being established, the world was divided into two camps, the Jews, and the non-Jews, or the Gentiles. But, the early church received a mandate from God to go into all the world to preach the Gospel, which included the Gentile nations.

In verses 34 thru 43 of Acts, Chapter 10, that when it comes to salvation, our good works mean nothing to God. But, a person who comes to him with a broken heart, whether Jew or Gentile, God will not turn away from them.

In verses 23 thru 33 of Acts, Chapter 10, we’ll discover how we are no longer Jew, or Gentile, but that all of us are one in Jesus Christ. And, that the Holy Spirit has now come to all those who became born-again through the teachings of Peter.

God had to tell Peter to tear down the wall of separation between his traditions, and the precious soul of Cornelius. So, Peter is now being molded and shaped into loving those who God loves.

Today, Pastor Jack tells us how the Holy Spirit prepares the lives of Cornelius, and the Apostle Peter, to come together, and let go of their many differences, including the cultures they were raised in. Cornelius was a devout man, but he wasn’t born-again. So, Peter welcomes him, and leads him into a personal relationship with Christ.
