For the Christ follower, it’s our faith that drives the experience, and not the other way around. During the time of Jesus’ ministry on earth, and on up towards Peter’s day, people flocked towards the miracles. Even today, there are certain ministers who turn the grace of God into self-satisfying opportunities of a different gospel.

Combat faith means to fight for the truth. There will be many false prophets, and teachers in these last days, and we need to guard ourselves against deception. The truth never changes. From Biblical days to now, the truth has remained the same. The Bible can defend itself. We just need its truths out there in a more radical way.

There’s a real fear of the unknown. But, for the Christ follower, Home is our heart's desire. There’s no peace for those who are about to die, and yet still refuse Christ’s offer of eternal life in Heaven. Where is their home? Where will they go?

God knows those who are His, and those who are not His. It’s not that He picks and chooses. It’s based on His foreknowledge. He knows in advance who will accept Him, and those who will reject His Gospel of salvation.

When we work hard at proving we are truly among those God has called to be His family, then we will be more insulated from falling away. Romans 8, verse 28, tells us that all things work together for good to those who are the called according to His purpose.

When we are right with God, we’ll have an attitude of gratitude, and thankfulness. Our actions and decisions will show insight and wisdom, and we’ll see people as God sees them. In other words, we’ll have the desire to be the person that God has created us to be.

When we are right with God, we’re not clouded by past sins, or remain the person we once were. Instead, we’ll have vision and clarity. We’re not worried about physical things, but have an eternal and heavenly perspective.

When we think of Christianity, and what it means, many people have it wrong. They think it’s doing the best you can, or to be a good person. But, Christianity is not that, and it’s not a religious movement. It’s a response to the Good News of the Gospel, and yielding ourselves totally to Christ.

When we add to our faith love, how is that to be expressed? Well, God’s love is a supernatural overflow of good will. A divine love that asks nothing in return. In real life it means to just do it. Do it for Jesus, do it for good, and do the right thing in spite of what you feel.

It’s the true believer’s desire to be more like Jesus every day. To yield to the Holy Spirit and seek the Lord with all of our hearts. It takes self-control and diligence, but if we keep pushing on, and not give up, we’ll have a greater love, and kindness towards others, and a deeper understanding of who God is.
