When the End is Just the Beginning - 2C

August 14, 2019

Chapter 24 of Isaiah is like reading from the Book of Revelation when all things are moving towards an end. But, the Tribulation Believers who lose their lives under the Antichrist will be saved for their newly found devotion to God. And, there will also be 144,000 Jewish evangelists that will sweep the globe with the Gospel. But, all the leaders of the earth will be judged for their sins.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

We’ve come to Isaiah Chapter 24 where Isaiah is given a series of visions by God that go beyond Israel and Judah’s judgment, and into the coming of the Last Days. Chapter 24 is like reading from the Book of Revelation. The Great Tribulation Period is coming, when people will suffer at the hands of the Antichrist because they refused Jesus Christ and His salvation.

God’s plan for the nations is the only one that matters. Bible history in Isaiah’s time reminds us of what is happening in our time. We are forgetting God. But, what we believe and how we live will someday be brought before us. Our nation needs to turn back to God, so He can both heal and restore us.

God hates pride. He doesn’t excuse it. Pride is the root of envy, manipulation and even war. Where pride is, there is division among families, churches, leadership and nations. That’s why God has to humble the proud, and why we have to pray for His protection, instead of receiving His judgement.

God takes national worship very seriously. The sin of unbelief grows when the Word of God is neglected, and the power of the Holy Spirit is avoided. Worst of all, we start looking for help in all the wrong places, as the sin of Godless leadership spreads.

When we get lost in our own desires, we think life is all about us. Our hearts become hardened towards God, and yet we blame Him when things go wrong. But, when we humble ourselves before Him, He will be the one to lift us up.

When we avoid responsibility by not helping others, or want our own demands met at everyone else’s expense, God responds by removing His protection from our lives. But, when we repent and return to Him, He is there for us.
