The world we live in has no idea what’s important. Earthly ambitions can have such a grip on us. Like choosing what seems right over spending quality time with the Lord. The Christ follower may be in this world, but we need to remind ourselves that we are not of it.

We all know the phrase that actions speak louder than words. The same is true for the Christ follower. Christianity is not a collection of sayings. What we believe will only become believable to others when they see what we do, and not just hear what we have to say.

Religion will not save us. Being good, and attending church faithfully is not a guarantee of Heaven. It’s putting Jesus above all else, and serving those around us who are in need that will matter in the end.

It’s not what you know, but who you know. With Christ comes privilege, and a new kind of happiness. It’s not a happiness that only lasts for a season, but a happiness that both fulfills us, and completes us.

There is no greater freedom than to be freed from the demands and attention that living for ourselves requires. Having a relationship with Jesus not only means eternal salvation. It means we get to share with others the love, and peace, that only comes from knowing Him.

Today, Pastor Jack tells us that everything these 70 workers did was a success. The powerful name of Jesus gave them the victory, even over demonic forces that had enslaved the people. Jesus had given them all they needed, and a deep satisfaction swept over them.

Today, Pastor Jack tells us that as the clock was running out to follow Jesus while He was still on earth, it’s the same for us today. God’s mercy is eternal, but the time is short to benefit from it. God’s love may be eternal, but if we reject Him, there may not be another opportunity to receive Him.

Today, Pastor Jack shares with us that a Christian’s purpose in life is to break the bonds that tie them to this world, and to sense the urgency to tell others about Christ. The world can only offer temporal rewards, while Jesus offers the eternal reward of Heaven with Him.

Today, Pastor Jack tells us that the ministry of Jesus cannot be done without prayer, by His power and through His leading. Like today many are ready to hear about salvation through Christ but those who are equipped to share it are few and far between.
