The centerpiece of the Book of Isaiah is the nation of Israel. The prophet Jeremiah also foretold that the days are coming when the Lord will make a new covenant with them. A time when God’s law will not only be on their minds, but also in their hearts.

God has always known, even before He created us, that He’ll redeem both the Jews and the Gentiles through His Son Jesus Christ. God’s Spirit is eternal, and He created all things. He knows our beginning, and the end of our days here on earth.

It is the Holy Spirit who puts His seal on us the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit also commissions us for service. But, it’s actually Jesus Christ Himself who baptizes us with the Holy Spirit.

The same Holy Spirit that is at work in the lives of the Jewish people, is the same Spirit that is alive in the Gentile believers. And, the same God who chose the nation of Israel to be His people, is the same God who has chosen us.

We can backslide at any moment. That’s why we’re to be quick to listen, and respond to His love. God will allow things to happen in our lives, but only to the point where He intervenes with His mercy.

Our day to day living is to be a reflection of the Holy Spirit inside of us. And, when we are put in a place to share our faith, we don’t have to worry over the right words. The Lord will give us the power to share our faith whenever we need it.

The Lord’s passion for His people has never wavered, and He’s still at work even today on behalf of Israel. God’s ultimate plan is to gather the Jews back to Israel to be His witness to the world.

God isn’t done with the nation of Israel. Thousands of Jews are coming back to their Homeland. And, one of God’s great plans for America was to be the tool by which Israel will be restored.

Israel turned a blind eye to the Lord. They didn’t listen or consider His warning that other nations will come to destroy them if they refuse to walk in obedience to His Word. But, now Isaiah tells them that the Lord is merciful, and will save them, even though they did it to themselves when they sinned against Him.

The very fact the nation of Israel exists today is proof enough that God’s Word is true, and that we can rely on His promises. He is a God who can be counted on to keep His Word, and the one who gave us a spirit and a soul that lives forever.
