The Holy Spirit of the Old Testament had 2 functions, to convict people of their sin, and to come alongside people to point them to God. But, in the New Testament, we can see how the Holy Spirit is not only alongside us, He is in us the moment we become born again.

When the first church was being established, the world was divided into two camps, the Jews, and the non-Jews, or the Gentiles. But, the early church received a mandate from God to go into all the world to preach the Gospel, which included the Gentile nations.

In verses 34 thru 43 of Acts, Chapter 10, that when it comes to salvation, our good works mean nothing to God. But, a person who comes to him with a broken heart, whether Jew or Gentile, God will not turn away from them.

In verses 23 thru 33 of Acts, Chapter 10, we’ll discover how we are no longer Jew, or Gentile, but that all of us are one in Jesus Christ. And, that the Holy Spirit has now come to all those who became born-again through the teachings of Peter.

God had to tell Peter to tear down the wall of separation between his traditions, and the precious soul of Cornelius. So, Peter is now being molded and shaped into loving those who God loves.

God wants to minister to our immediate needs to encourage us towards the ultimate healing of salvation. God’s miracle of salvation cost Him the greatest price, produces the greatest results of eternal life in Heaven. And, it brings the greatest glory to God.

In the beginning of Paul’s ministry, he had some difficulty convincing the other disciples that he had changed, and was now a true believer in Christ. Only Barnabas defended Paul’s conversion because he had already witnessed the change within him.

Not all decisions are lasting ones. But, we will see how Paul was a true believer in Christ by how he responds to his calling to preach that Jesus Christ is the Messiah. And, in spite of his reputation of violence towards the church in Jerusalem, he goes back to share about his conversion with both enthusiasm, and integrity.
