November 29, 2018

What can we expect when Satan comes to attack us? As we move forward in following Christ, Satan will try to deceive us with lies. But, like Paul, we have a great responsibility to the Gospel. So, we’re to trust in the Lord, walk in the Holy Spirit with integrity, and have a heart for the church.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

There’s a great danger in imitating God’s work. A false truth can have eternal consequences that leads to destruction, because Satan is behind it. We need to know Christ, and have the Holy Spirit working in our lives to decipher the works of the devil.

God worked unusual miracles through Paul for many reasons. These miracles were to teach spiritual truths to open up the heart and mind. They were to announce that Jesus Christ is the Messiah to a dying world. And, they were to reveal God’s love and compassion.

Paul preached from the Old Testament of the Bible to try and persuade the crowd to receive Christ. It’s only the Bible’s supernatural power that can pierce our hearts and discern our thoughts. But, many rejected his message and spoke evil of Paul, and of Christ. So, he withdrew himself and the disciples who were with him.

One sign of being a Christian is spiritual growth. And the way we grow in Christ is by staying in God’s Word, and continuing His work. But, often times it takes a renewed focus for the ministry to expand, and for church growth to be possible.

We need to persevere in our faith because just like Paul, we are all prone to discouragement. But, opposition can also bring opportunities. If things always go our way, we’ll never appreciate God’s blessings, and the comfort He brings during difficult times.

When Paul reached the city of Corinth, God gave him a vision to not be afraid, but to keep preaching. Many were against Paul’s teachings, and this discouraged him. So, God also sent fellow servants and faithful friends to be with him, including Silas and Timothy, and Priscilla and Aquila, who were fellow tent makers.

Thinking there are no absolutes in life is a dangerous way to live. The people of Athens were very sincere about worshipping their mini Gods. So, Paul gently points out that sincerity is not an indicator of the truth. He also tells them that there’s only one God, and He is available to all, and the Savior for all.
