Night Vision - C

July 29, 2019

On today’s program, Pastor Jack tells us that night vision is Isaiah sharing what he sees. God used other nations to bring down Babylon. But, night vision is also seeing the signs of the times. God uses others to discipline those He loves, and to prepare them for what lies ahead.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

Night vision is Isaiah seeing what is going to happen to Babylon. Isaiah was greatly troubled over what the Lord showed him about Babylon’s future, even though they had fought against Israel. Babylon will be destroyed and its people never see it coming.

Isaiah receives a disturbing vision from the Lord. There are future events coming that brings punishment for a nation’s sin. God is going to judge Babylon for invading Israel, and put an end to the misery that Babylon caused towards His people.

We need to be honest with ourselves. We can never have the victory as long as we avoid the truth of our sin. We all have a God-given power to choose. And, no force, not even Satan can make us sin when we’ve decided not to.

Pastor Jack reminds us that the number one temptation of Satan is to draw us away from God. He does it by using our own desires against us. Satan knows that our desires can eventually give birth to sin. But, when we walk in the light as Jesus is in the light, His love and forgiveness cleanses us from all our sin.

Temptation is being drawn away by our own desires, and enticed. Then, if allowed to linger, our desires give birth to sin. We cannot allow ourselves to be deceived. We need to fight those temptations that are destroying our lives.

All of us are tempted to sin. It’s what we do with it that matters. Satan is at war with our minds. But, when we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Savior, we belong to Him. His life-giving Spirit has already freed us from the power of sin and death.

Sin can ruin our lives. All sin is wrapped up in a lie from Satan. It may seem pleasurable for a while, but the choices we make without prayer can take us down a very dark path. That’s why we need to confess our sins to the Lord, so He can forgive us, and set us back on track.
July 18, 2019
When we are crucified with Christ, we’re no longer a slave to sin. Jesus died on the cross to free us from sin. The moment we accept Christ as our Savior and put our faith in Him, is the moment we have victory over Satan’s lies and temptations.

The word sin means to swerve, to veer off course, or to miss the target. Original sin did not begin with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. It began when Satan wanted to be worshipped like God, and was then cast out of heaven.

Biblical Prophets, like Isaiah, are driven by the holiness of God. By nature of their calling, they have seen the heart of God and have become possessed by it. Isaiah even walked naked and barefoot among the Jews to warn them of what will happen if they rely on other nations, instead of God to defend them.
