We need to experience a fresh Pentecost in our lives today. God is calling us to remember those things that He has carried us through before, but He’s also on the move with a fresh Word and a fresh fire. What God has begun, He promises to complete.

God honors the dedicated love of the wife, especially towards an unbelieving husband. It’s one of the greatest mission fields set before the church today. A Godly woman is a testimony of enduring faithfulness, and a powerful witness to her husband.

A strong marriage is an awesome witness to the world. God wants our marriage to be a success, while our enemy Satan, wants to redefine it. He hates that God values His people, and will do anything he can to separate what God has brought together as a divine institution.

Character matters. Who you are on the inside matters. How we conduct our day to day lives can point the way towards Christ. Our sinful nature can get in the way, but when we stop and ask for forgiveness from our spouse, it shows our humility, and honor towards them, and to God.

God designs and creates to bring joy and meaning to our lives. This includes the marriage of a man and a woman. And, even though women were devalued in 1st Century Roman culture, God has called the Christian husband to treat his wife with love and respect, as an equal partner.

God is a God of order. He created marriage, and designed it to work in such a way that honors Him. Lasting togetherness is possible when the husband and wife submit to one another, as they both submit to God, and His authority over them.

The believing wife is an awesome witness of Christ. Her submission, as well as her testimony, can silence the arguments of an unbelieving husband. She can touch his heart simply through her love and devotion.

Many of the Christ followers in Peter’s day were women. The Gospel Message changed her rights as a woman, and taught her how to win her husband over to Christ. Her husband’s authority and position didn’t change, but his opinion of her moved from servitude to honor and respect.

God is just. He will settle the score in the end. God sent His Son Jesus Christ to bear our sins with His own body at the cross. Only Jesus could do that. And, only Jesus can redeem us from the curse of the Law. A Law that has no grace, and cannot sacrifice itself in our place.

Christ wants us to follow in His footsteps. But, this also holds true in His suffering. We can be in the middle of God’s perfect will, loved by Him with an infinite love, and yet be suffering greatly in a Christ rejecting world.
