God's Word is Always True - 3A

April 30, 2019

God knows what will come to pass, and we need to remember that God is in control. God’s Word is eternal, and history is an eye witness to His Word. That’s why if the Bible wasn’t true, and all that it claims is false, it could easily be discarded. But, the past has proven God’s Word to be true. And, the longer we live, the more we see God’s hand in all that we do.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

Our calling is from God. We’re to decrease as God increases. And, when considering all that we do, we’re to ask ourselves if our decisions are Biblically recognizable. But, when leadership is corrupt, and goes against God’s Word, God intervenes, especially when it has to do with Israel.

Justice is part of God’s divine nature. But, mercy is given to Judah, even though Ahaz was an evil king, with too much authority and power for such a young age. He refused to listen to his advisors, so God intervenes for the sake of the nation.

Today, Pastor Jack challenges us to look at our own lives to see if we believe God’s Word to be true. Judah’s King Ahaz didn’t believe God’s Word to be trustworthy because he had rebellion in his heart. And, even though, Isaiah tells Ahaz to ask for a sign from God, Ahaz goes against Isaiah’s promise that God made to him, and makes alliances with other nations.

Plans against Israel will never succeed. Even though King Ahaz, of Jerusalem was young and rebellious, God’s hand was on him. And, even though Ahaz didn’t do what was right in God’s eyes, Isaiah reassures him of God’s protection that no other nation in the world has been promised.

God was specific in His prophecy about saving Judah. But, when a nation rebels against God, as Judah often did, the people will still have to face the consequences. Even Isaiah was not immune from reaping what his country had sown.

God esteems His Word above His own name. Even when Judah faces war from its enemies, Isaiah tells them not to panic, and not to lose heart. God will not allow the invasion to happen. But, if they do not stand firm in faith, they will not stand at all.

We are simply undone with the overwhelming sense of how small and insignificant we are in comparison to God. And, yet He chose willingly to humble Himself to die on a cross to save us from our sins. The death of the Lord Jesus Christ removes our guilt and shame, while His resurrection gives to us the gift of new life in Him!

The Passover feast that Jesus shared with His disciples was also the same hour He was betrayed. Jesus went through great suffering from that moment until He died on the cross. But, His passion for us, was why He willingly took on our sin, and carried our sorrows to the cross.

Jesus is our Passover Lamb who sacrificed Himself for our salvation. Only Jesus was crucified for our sin. Only Jesus was innocent enough, to spill His blood in our place.

Every Christian has a calling, and every Christian has a purpose in life. Our purpose is to be faithful in doing what’s right, no matter the outcome. The results are in God’s hands. We just need to stand on God’s Word and proclaim the truth, even when it seems like failure in the end.
