God's Plan In Our Troubles - B

There’s a paragraph in the first chapter of 2 Corinthians where Paul reveals that he and some fellow believers had experienced some earlier afflictions that were nearly unbearable. But then he goes on to say that all those troubles only caused them to rely on God alone to be delivered from them. Itʼs one of the many Scriptural lessons in how our Lord uses afflictions to bring about glory for Him, and growth for us.

The Lord was the fulfillment of both the Old and New Testament Scripture. Jesus was sent by God to restore us, and when we choose to follow in His ways, we get to be a part of helping to restore others. All we have to do is show God’s love, and share what we already know.

There are times in our past that have tried to ruin us in one way or another. But, what we need to know is that God is Almighty, and the Rock of our salvation. He is the Giver of eternal life, and the First and the Last of all things.

There’s a danger in not knowing what’s going to happen in the future. When we fail to consider the full revelation of God’s Word, we’ll miss the full message of salvation, and the final outcome of God’s plan for the world.

When Jesus returns, He will restore the earth to its original creation. Jerusalem will once again be called Zion, the City of The Lord. Israel is God’s ultimate example of His restoration and blessing. A land flowing with milk and honey, that will be both a delight, and a provider to all the other nations.

In the future, Israel will continue to prosper as long as they follow after God. Even the nations of the world will come to them in their need. But, Israel will begin to suffer, when they forget about God. It’s only when they call out to Him, that the Lord, in His mercy, will restore them.

Holiness, justice and truth are the foundations of God’s character. We only benefit when we put our hearts and minds towards Him. He is the only One who gives everlasting life to those who follow Him.
