The family of God needs to be spiritually healthy. This means to have an honest view of ourselves, to know the Word of God, and by examining ourselves, before we judge others.

A church, Jesus style, is a church that is committed to the Spiritual welfare of others. A living and loving body of believers, not bound by the law, but a church who is taught by God to love one another, as Christ loves us. A church, Jesus style, is also one that actively cares when others are overtaken in a sin, because Spiritual restoration is the very nature of our ministry.

We are to love a believer back from sin by going to them privately. We are not to gossip with others about it. Instead, we are to help to restore the sinner by leading them into repentance, and back into fellowship.

Legalism holds down and drowns the sinner, but love lifts up and stabilizes the sinner. We are to love them back into fellowship God’s way. And, that is through the spirit of gentleness should we also find ourselves tempted by sin.

Christianity is a faith that is centered on others. Our message should sound, look, and feel like Jesus. And, when a believer is overtaken in a sin, and repents, we are to lovingly restore them back into fellowship.

True believers can have pleasure in life, because the old nature no longer has victory over us. God’s love shows us that we have unconditional acceptance in Jesus Christ. And, the joy that it brings will give us peace through difficult times.

Today, on day 2 of this lesson, Pastor Jack reminds us that drunkenness, envy, hatred, anger and bitterness, and all manner of sins of the flesh, will keep us out of heaven. We need salvation from these enemies of the faith so that we won’t be under their emotional control.

Salvation comes first, and afterwards, out of our desire to please God, we do good works. But, the desires of the flesh will always try to come against us to defile our hearts, and contaminate our lives.

The first key to Spiritual Victory was to “hear”, “do”, and “experience” what the Holy Spirit is saying. The second point is the Christians proof of purchase. And, that is the conflict, and contrast between the flesh and the Spirit.

Our first marching order was to “hear” what the Holy Spirit is saying. The second marching order now, is to “do” the order. We can experience this by walking in the Spirit, so it can occupy and consume our lives.
