God to the Rescue - 1A

May 15, 2019

God weaves hope into the darkest of situations. Our tendency is to be depressed or sad when things go wrong. But, we have Jesus to fulfill the promises of Isaiah’s time. Disaster will come to those leaders, nations or powers that bring corruption and poverty to its people.

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

Even though God is love, He is also both mighty and powerful. When Jesus returns, He will right all wrongs, and all things will be made perfect, as He is perfect. Jesus is the Governor of time. Today is the day to receive Him as the Lord and Savior of your life.

God loves us unconditionally. His love never changes. It’s God’s desire to lead us towards perfection, and completion. Spending time alone with our wonderful God, is when we’ll hear His council, and receive His strength.

God Himself came for us, and either we believe that or we don’t. Isaiah describes the First and Second coming with such detail that we’re brought to a place of decision. Either His Son Jesus is our Lord and Savior, or He isn’t. But, Jesus Christ is who the Bible says He is, whether we believe it, or not.. God loves us unconditionally. His love never changes. It’s God’s desire to lead us towards perfection, and completion. Spending time alone with our wonderful God, is when we’ll hear His council, and receive His strength. Over 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah spoke of God’s Son coming down to us. Jesus came to bring salvation. But, in both Isaiah’s time, and in Jesus’ time, His hometown of Nazareth, was despised, unclean and associated with a curse. During the Second Coming, however, it will be a very different story. Jesus will sit on the throne of David, and His government will last forever.

the New Testament Gospel writers knew Jesus and understood perfectly that the messiah spoken of in Isaiah Chapter 9, was this same Jesus. The Book of Isaiah reveals to us, not only Jesus’ first coming to the earth, but His ministry when He returns in the Second Coming.

Trusting in the Lord means to wait on Him to act. Waiting then turns to resting, which gives us our strength. Then having rest in our Spirit, leads us towards a heart of worship. But like many of us today, Judah chose to trust the strength of their own allies rather than in the peace of God.

We all operate in a realm of trust. It’s based on relationship, that’s proven and tested through time. But trust is fragile. It can easily be violated or broken. Israel in the North stopped trusting God and made alliances with foreign nations. In light of this, Judah in the South was promised peace. But, their fear of Israel in the North caused them to also turn from God, and rely on other nations for help.

The nation of Judah lost its affection for God. God wanted Judah to drink the waters of His peace. But, they were so caught up in their own fear and struggles, they stopped listening to Isaiah and the promises he was sharing from the Lord.

In God We Trust means to “hide into”. A refuge of perfect peace because He is the Lord. God wanted Judah to trust Him, and not turn from His commands, so he could bless them and allow them to prosper in peace. But, if they refuse to obey God, they will be cursed in everything they do.

The Holy Spirit is the author of the Bible. And, when the prophet Isaiah foretells the virgin birth of Christ, the Holy Spirit answers this prophecy in Matthew, chapter 1. The near and far of Bible prophecy that covers a vast amount of time, is still accurate to the moment in prophecy fulfillment.
