Eyes On. Ears On. - 3B

Daze Of Deception
Jesus warned that deception would grow worse as we draw nearer to the end times, saying, “Take heed that no one deceives you” (Matthew 24:4). Distinguishing truth from error has become increasingly challenging—even in the church. We live in a time when falsehoods assault us from every direction. Packaged with just enough truth to make them appear trustworthy, these counterfeits have grown more and more difficult to detect and avoid. Living in the Daze of Deception explores the many ways error is masquerading as truth—and you’ll learn how you can discern the difference.

It’s important for Christians to watch and listen for false ministries. Why? Because they’re here, they’re active in our communities, and they can be very persuasive. They’re teachings are infectious, and can draw huge crowds, and only when we share God’s Word can we combat their false promises and false hope.

False teachers will twist the truth of the Bible into something that justifies their own immoral lifestyle. This lack of conviction and Biblical clarity encourages many to follow what works for them because it’s easy, but in the end will prove to be fatal.

All of us who follow Christ are called to have a militant kind of faith. Now, more than ever there are teachers out there who promote what sounds close to the truth, who are really spreading outright dangerous lies. But, as God continues to move in a powerful way, we can expect that kind of deception from the enemy.

We need to be aware of a works-based faith. Many are deceived through false teachers who present a different Gospel, and unless you know your Bible, they’ll undermine it’s truth in a very secretive and seductive way.

Jesus paid a heavy price for our salvation. He spilled His blood on the cross, and rose again to give us eternal life. This is why Peter shares with us how vital the truth of God’s Word is. We are constantly bombarded with lies that seem right, but in the end can destroy us.

“Eyes On, Ears On” is a combat special ops declaration. It means we’re watching, listening and ready to go. Spiritually, we’re saying that no matter what lies ahead, through the power and might of the Holy Spirit we can stop our enemy Satan from getting a foothold into our lives.

God knows the times and the seasons, and wants us to know that He keeps His Word, and that His Word is ahead of tomorrow’s headlines, ahead of sickness, ahead of pain, and ahead of anything you are about to face.

As a true Christ follower, our desire is to have our daily lives to be a reflection of our faith. When we get to know God in a deeper way, we’ll interact with God’s divine will for us, as we in turn will follow His authority with confidence and security.

Our faith is not based on an opinion. Billions of lives were not transformed by some story, but through Jesus Christ, and the truths found in God’s Word. When our faith is based on Jesus, our testimony is sure, and our eternity in Heaven is secured.

Wherever the Gospel is preached, change happens. It’s not by following cleverly devised fables, but through Jesus Christ and the miraculous power of the Holy Spirit that our lives are made new.
