Abraham of the Old Testament believed God, and it was declared to him that he was righteous. This tells us that we are justified by faith, and not by our performance. And, just like Abraham, God views all those who put their faith in Christ, as though they had never sinned.

Believers experience the Holy Spirit by faith, and not by following the works of the law. For having received the Holy Spirit, we are no longer in the flesh. But, if we continue in our former conduct, our Christian experience will be in vain.

In the believer’s experience, the truth of the Gospel saves us from our sins just by believing in Christ. And, at that moment of conversion, we are given a new heart, and a new mind. But, our minds still need to be renewed daily in the truth and knowledge of God.

If we can enter into heaven just by being good, then Jesus wasted His life’s mission of going to the cross. It’s the new us that needs to stand up, crucified with Christ, living as the new real us!

The truth about Christianity gives us the opportunity to correct those bound by the words of the law. We are justified through God’s grace by putting our faith in Jesus Christ alone. Trusting in our good works will not save us.
