The Imperial declaration, "Let us then have nothing in common with the Jews" uttered by the Roman Emperor Constantine in 329 AD is known in history as "Constantine's Sword" --a declaration from Rome that declared a formal split between Christianity and the Jews. It signaled the first seeds of a violent intolerance towards the Jews some three hundred years after the death of Jesus.
