Eitan Weiss: Israel is the final bastion, the final fort of democracy and freedom in the Middle East. We are surrounded by enemies that do not want to take just the Jews out. They want to get you guys because you represent the thing they hate most. You represent freedoms, you represent liberty, you represent all the good values that they do not believe in.

People here need to understand one simple thing. If Israel, Heaven forbid, will be out of the picture, they will not be happy and say, "Okay, we're done. Let's have peace." No, they'll continue onwards through Europe and to the United States.

So, ladies and gentlemen, you have us at the 2026 National Religious Broadcasters Convention. We're here in Nashville, Tennessee. Of course, we're going to have a whole great lineup of interviews that we're going to bring to you to talk about the rise of antisemitism and Christian influencers who are pushing antisemitism. To start our day, we have the Consul General to Israel from the Southeast, Eitan Weiss. Eitan, thank you so much for being here with us today.

Eitan Weiss: Good morning. Thank you very much. It's a pleasure. Thank you for having me.

Guest (Male): Eitan, tell us a little bit about yourself and your history. I know that you've been appointed to the Southeastern United States, but this is not your first appointment.

Eitan Weiss: That's not my first rodeo for sure. I've been a diplomat for the past 18 years. One day I woke up and decided that enough is enough. I was sick and tired of yelling at the TV. I decided to do something instead of just sitting and moping and getting angry. That's why I joined the service. For the past 18 years, I've been a diplomat representing my people, my country, and my government.

This is my fourth diplomatic posting. I've been to Russia, Ottawa, Canada, and Los Angeles. Now I'm here as the Consul General to the Southeast. We cover seven states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, and Kentucky.

My main purpose here is to strengthen the ties and build bigger and stronger bridges between the communities living here in the Southeast to Israel and vice versa. This is an immense operation, and I have to admit I'm so happy to be here because people here are so warm and hospitable. Their heart is in the right place. We share so many values, and here it's so visible. It makes my job even more fulfilling.

Laurie Cardoza Moore: You certainly have been appointed to this position for such a time as this because we're facing a lot of challenges. After 9/11, that was really the wake-up call for me. When we were attacked on 9/11, I understood that the same battle or the same war that we were now facing was the same war, the same enemy, the same battle that Israel has been fighting for years.

Being in the foreign service and serving your government here in the Southeast of the United States, tell us what your plans are. Tell us about what you've experienced so far because I know you've been going around and you've been meeting with some of the other leaders in these Southern states. What are you finding from these other leaders, especially Christian leaders, because they're some of your biggest supporters, but also the political leaders in each of these states?

Eitan Weiss: First of all, I think it's important that what you just mentioned is so accurate. People here in this great country need to understand one simple thing. Israel is the final bastion, the final fort of democracy and freedom in the Middle East. We are surrounded by enemies that do not want to take just the Jews out. They want to get you guys because you represent the thing they hate most.

You represent freedoms, you represent liberty, you represent all the good values that they do not believe in. When I mean they, I mean the fundamentalist aspects of Islam. Heaven forbid I do not generalize, but when I talk about the extremist parts of that religion, it's extremely dangerous and heinous, and we need to be extremely careful of it.

People here need to understand one simple thing. If Israel, Heaven forbid, will be out of the picture, they will not be happy and say, "Okay, we're done. Let's have peace." No, they'll continue onwards through Europe and to the United States because that's what they want to do. That's the extremist revolution. They want to take over the world. That's what they mean.

You need to understand that we share the same values. We are allies. We are brethren, Jews and Christians, and we have to stick together because they have invested so much effort and so much money into creating a rift, a divide between us. We need to remind everyone, and sadly we see phenomena here in this great nation and in this region where the extreme left of the political map and the extreme right of the political map have one thing in common.

Who would have believed that? That's the hate of Israel and the Jews. They're being misled, used, and manipulated through money, other lies, and deceit in order to create that rift. We have to fight against it. Again, I'm not saying Israel is the perfect place. Jews are not the perfect people, but we mean well. We are good people trying to do the best that we can in this world.

Guest (Male): What country is perfect, and what people are perfect? We're dealing with humanity, so there's going to be some messy issues.

Eitan Weiss: That's right. But we're willing to have a dialogue. We're willing to talk to people, understand, and build bridges. That's what I do. I build bridges. Just as you rightfully mentioned, the important leaders and the community leaders in this amazing region and the political leaders, I'm so happy to see the majority of them are extremely friendly because they understand they come with good values and with good education about faith and the importance of faith in someone's future.

Without a past, we don't have a future. Because of that, they are doing whatever they can to help me do my job and strengthen the ties. Also, thank you for your assistance by having me and giving me the opportunity to speak to you and to your amazing audience. This is the thing we need to do more.

Guest (Male): Absolutely. You talked about the things that are similar that bind us together, and the most important thing is the Bible. We as a Judeo-Christian nation understand the responsibility from a biblical perspective of what our duty is to stand with our brother, our older brother in the faith.

We have a major problem going on. You briefly mentioned it. We know we've got the antisemitism on the left, but now we've got a problem on the right. The far right is starting to divide the conservative movement or the Republican Party. We have that threat that we're facing to dismantle the values that bind our countries together.

Ever since Israel's inception, when Israel was born, we were the first to be there to declare, "Yes, we agree. We're going to stand with you. We recognize the Jewish state, the State of Israel." Unfortunately, in our country, and it's not just here in the Southeast United States, it's all over the country. It's really all over the world. We have been indoctrinating our children with anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian propaganda.

When we see our kids marching in the streets on college campuses and our young kids, our K through 12 kids are marching with them, we wonder what happened. Why are they doing this? It's because we've been indoctrinating them. What do you see is the way that we're going to be able to work together to be able to confront this threat to the next generation of leaders?

Eitan Weiss: First of all, we need to stress that what we see on the extreme right of the political map here, some people try to use excuses like isolationism. "We mustn't be involved." We live in a world where such a thing doesn't exist anymore because your economy is so interdependent with other countries and other nations. There's no such thing as an island anymore because whoever turns into an island disappears.

You have to be open, and you have to work closely with your allies and defend yourself against your enemies. They're hiding this under isolationism, saying, "Oh, we're giving so much money to Israel." No, you're not giving a lot of money to Israel. You're giving us store credit. You give us money so we can spend the money here. What it actually does is bring Israeli businesses here.

Israel is investing money here in the American economy, opening facilities, opening factories, and hiring local Americans. Just here in Tennessee, a lot of great things are going to happen where more and more Israeli companies are going to open shop here, hiring local people, paying them salaries, paying taxes and revenues. That money is invested here. We're not getting a dime out of it.

That's the excuse they use to say Israel is getting so much. We're not. Even though we're a small country, we also are happy to donate and help and share our knowledge because Israel is the leading country in the world on so many technologies that we share with you that help America become a great nation. That's a thing we need to stress.

What we see sadly are our enemies, like Qatar, funneling money. They know exactly what makes you tick. Funneling money into institutions, indoctrinating your young generations to hate Israel and to hate Jews. Everyone should be afraid. When you just mentioned you see kids marching in the streets against Israel, were those kids also marching on the streets against Iran, where the Iranian regime butchered 30,000 of their own innocent men, women, and children?

Did anyone of them march? Did anyone of them demonstrate? No, because all this alleged activity against Israel is artificial. It is being funneled and funded by countries like Qatar. That should be extremely scary for you. Today it's against Israel; tomorrow it could be against healthcare, against military, against police, against this community, or against that community. This is a test case of their world domination. Once you fail on this, you'll fail on everything else.

Guest (Male): If they can bring down the United States of America, any government is fair game to these people. Eitan, tell us about what your plans are. What is the Israeli government's vision for the next four years or five years here in the Southeast?

Eitan Weiss: First of all, the most amazing thing is once the Prime Minister signed my appointment and approved it, I was given the authority to decide what would go best because I'm here. I learn what's important to this region, and I basically take it back. This is my working plan. My working plan, of course, is divided into several aspects.

The first one is to strengthen the national security of Israel and this region and the United States by incorporating better collaboration on the defense technology and the facilities that we have here, either owned by Israelis or not. After October 7th, we learned a lesson that we need to strengthen our ties. We mustn't rely on other countries for our survivability. Only the United States is a dependable country.

We are basically strengthening that and then working a lot on economy and businesses, bringing businesses from Israel to here and strengthening the collaborations between our economies, increasing our trade, bringing more jobs, bringing more people, and bringing everything. Then, of course, strengthening the ties with various communities.

The Christian community is the most important community to me because these are good people with good conscience that need to understand why they're fighting, why they're supporting Israel, and why they need to support Israel. Supporting Israel is supporting themselves and supporting the ideals we both follow. Both of our faiths follow the Ten Commandments. This is the strong glue that binds us all, and we need to celebrate that.

As I said, there are so many things that I need to do here, and there's a lot of work ahead of me. Through the friendship of support from local electeds and federal electeds and people such as yourself, this is what we need to keep doing.

Guest (Male): I love to see the state legislatures. Like I said earlier, I work a lot in the state of Florida with state legislators and here in Tennessee with state legislators looking at legislation that we can implement on the state level to strengthen that bond with Israel.

Eitan Weiss: Not only that, but also to defend yourself against external influence that might affect your kids or affect your future. That's also extremely important. You have to be vigilant.

Guest (Male): Absolutely. We're working in education, making sure that our children are being taught accurately the history of Israel, how it was birthed as a nation and reborn as a nation, and teaching them the role the Hebrew Bible played in the founding of our country. We've done that here in Tennessee and in the state of Florida.

These are all important things. We're not teaching religion; we're teaching our kids history that has been eliminated from the textbooks and the instructional materials. We have found that when our kids are challenged and we give them the facts and the truth, it changes their complete perspective. Education is going to be key.

For us, producing more programming content and interviewing people on the ground and Israeli government officials on the ground to tell us what's going on and how we can support you is vital. So, to our audience, as we wrap up this interview, is there anything you would like to say to them or communicate to them before we wrap it up?

Eitan Weiss: Thank you for that opportunity. I think that the main challenge that we face today is the lies being spread on social media. The rules of the game of social media are so anti-Israel and so antisemitic. The way it's designed, you can influence all the algorithms, and whenever you see anything positive or truthful coming out about Israel or the Jewish people, it's being eliminated by our enemies by simply massing up people to complain against a specific post, and then it's deleted automatically. We can't win this.

What I'm asking from your audience is, first of all, always remember that at the core, at the basis core in your heart, know that the Jewish people and Israel are good people. We're good people by heart. We're not perfect. We make mistakes, but we fix our mistakes. Always remember that because whenever you see something questionable or something that is so anti-Israel, always question that.

Don't believe social media. Ever. Do your own validation and your own investigation. For parents with kids, talk more to your kids. Kids these days sadly go to social media, to AI, and to ChatGPT to understand what's happening in the world instead of having conversations with their parents. That's dangerous.

When kids feel either embarrassed or not interested in engaging in conversation with parents and solely rely on what they see on social media and on the internet, that's the most dangerous thing. Encourage them. That's what I do with my kids. I encourage them to talk with me and tell me about their day and what's happening and if they have any questions. I find so many mistakes, some of them maybe deliberately so, that they build upon their knowledge based on what they see on social media. We have to tackle that because today it's us, and tomorrow it's you.

Guest (Male): The social media influencers, specifically Christian influencers, are a big concern. I want to thank you for taking the time to be with us today, to introduce you to our audience, and to hear your passion and your voice so that Christians understand we are in this battle together.
