Who Is Driving American Antisemitism? The Red-Green Alliance
Dr. Susan Michael exposes the dangerous foreign forces, digital bot campaigns, and ideologically driven agendas behind the shocking surge of antisemitism in America today.
Dr. Susan Michael: Well hey there, welcome to the Out of Zion podcast, I'm your host Dr. Susan Michael. Last week I talked about the absurdity of antisemitism. If you haven't heard that, I hope that you will go back and listen to it because today I'm going to build on that. I'm going to talk about what's causing the antisemitism and where it's coming from.
Thank you for joining this week's Out of Zion podcast. Let's get started. Antisemitism in the United States is surging just like it is all around the world. Just for an introduction for those that may not have joined us last week, there was a recent study that found that 57% of Jewish Americans experienced antisemitism over the last year.
That's equivalent to something like 3.3 million adults and maybe 250,000 Jewish children experienced antisemitism in the last year. That means the threat is so real that many of them are now changing their behavior and not wearing signs that let people know that they're Jewish. Some of them have even changed behavior and not gone to events because of their fear. So where is this coming from here in the country that relishes freedom of religion and freedom of speech and the home of the brave? Where is this coming from?
Guest (Male): First, it's coming from foreign players. Foreign influence has indoctrinated a generation of American young people to hate America, hate Israel, hate the Jews, even hate Bible-based Christianity. Some of them even believe in the need for revolution and some even violence to bring about that revolution.
This generation is now entering into politics, so we see these really bad ideologies entering the political realm. Who are the foreign players? Where's this coming from? It's what we call the Red-Green Alliance. Red meaning the Marxists, which are Communist and Socialist, and Green being the Islamist. Both sides are authoritarian. Both of them want to take over the world.
Both see America and Israel as in the way of their being able to take over the world. So they want to get rid of freedom of speech and freedom of religion in America. They want to shred the Constitution of the United States and get rid of those freedoms and crack down on the people and impose their ideology.
The odd thing is this means that an anti-religion Marxist movement is working in tandem with a religion. Not just any religion, but one that wants to impose their religion on the world, including the Marxist world. Hatred makes very strange bedfellows. This is an obviously temporary alliance but it's playing well and they are helping each other.
They have united in their quest to bring down the Judeo-Christian America and the Jewish state of Israel. They're well-organized and well-funded by foreign if not state funding. Let's talk about the Muslims first. About 25 years ago there was a court case and in the discovery, they found a document that had been produced by the Muslim Brotherhood.
It contained their strategy for taking over America. It was what they called civilization jihad. It wasn't a jihad with guns and bombs and terrorists. It was working from inside America through our processes to quietly take over and then to impose their way of life, Sharia law, on this country.
They have been working diligently with this quiet strategy in mind for decades now and we're just beginning to realize this. The Muslim world is used to authoritarian governments and these authoritarian governments have used the Jews as scapegoats in order to deflect their people's attention from their own corruption and failures.
They have used the Jews to protect themselves. A disturbing new survey by the Pew Research Center finds that 44% of Muslims living in America have a favorable view of Hamas. There's approximately 4.5 million Muslims in America, so we're talking about nearly 2 million of them that have a favorable view of this vicious, bloodthirsty terrorist organization.
They slaughtered 1,200 Jews and Israelis on October 7, 2023. Hamas also routinely oppresses the Muslim people of Gaza and they deny them basic human rights, they use them as human shields, and they execute anyone suspected of disloyalty. Yet 2 million Muslims in America actually see this as favorable. That's a very dangerous sign.
Now let's talk about the Marxists. Marxism is a master at the use of propaganda to control the masses. They also use force and bloody revolutions as part of their trademark. They are actually responsible for the deaths of 100 million people around the world. President Trump just named the Communist surge in America as the greatest threat we have ever faced.
Think about that for a minute. It is the greatest threat that we have ever faced. Today's Red-Green Alliance links radical left-wing political movements in the West with Islamist terrorist organizations in the Middle East. It is a very deadly combination. So that's the "who." How are they influencing America? Well, through funding of education.
The top two foreign funders of our universities and our education is Islamist Qatar and Communist China. Qatar's involvement should not be taken lightly. It's a long-time country that backs the Muslim Brotherhood, Hamas, and the Revolutionary Guard regime in Iran. Qatar is also the home of Al Jazeera, the premier propaganda machine that has been fueling hatred for Israel all around the world.
With Qatar's money goes Qatar's ideology. Let's talk specifically about our universities. A 2019 Senate investigation found that nearly 70% of schools receiving funds from Communist Chinese government-funded Confucius Institutes failed to report it. The universities are not reporting the money coming from these Confucius Institutes as foreign funding.
What has been reported that is coming from China is roughly $6 billion. This must just be the tip of the iceberg if the Chinese government is using these institutes to funnel funding. The same problem occurs with Qatari donations. Many universities intentionally do not report what they're getting from Qatar.
According to a 2024 report to Congress made by Dr. Charles Small—he's the founder of a group called ISGAP, it stands for Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy—he testified before Congress that his organization had assembled a team of forensic accountants and experts in terror funding. They estimated that Qatar has invested somewhere between $500 billion and $1 trillion in the United States.
Most of it is in education but also in media, public relations, and lobbying the government. They're using this soft influence to influence our society. This is interference. Funding our education, our universities, and our colleges at such a large amount is interference in one of the most important institutions in America, and that's our higher education.
It's a major source of antisemitism that's now influencing our young people. But I'm sorry to say, it's not just at the university level. We see it also in K through 12. Dr. Small's testimony before Congress in 2024 also exposed a program funded by Qatar to provide curricula for K through 12 in which Israel was presented through a lens of colonialism, imperialism, and occupation.
Maps showed that Tel Aviv was the capital of Israel, not Jerusalem. That particular program was later shut down thanks to Dr. Small's exposure of it, but there's other occurrences taking place. For instance, it was recently in the news that a map of the Middle East used in a New York high school omitted Israel altogether.
This was by a program funded by Qatar. This foreign funding of our education is really indoctrinating our young people. How else are they influencing? By organizing student-led protests on campuses. On October 7, 2023, as I'm sure all of my listening audience knows, Hamas attacked Israel and killed 1,200 Israelis and kidnapped some 250.
It was the worst slaughter of Jews in one day since the Holocaust. Immediately, within 24 hours, there were protests against Israel happening around the world, using common slogans and common signs. Over the next 12 months, there were thousands of them, obviously coordinated with their slogans, their talking points, and their signs.
According to an author named Warren Kinsella, who authored a book called The Hidden Hand: The Information War and the Rise of Antisemitic Propaganda, Hamas and its networks, along with some of their Western followers, had thousands of social media accounts primed and ready to go. They had protest banners ready and talking points translated into multiple languages long before the IDF was able to respond to the attack.
These rallies and these protests weren't just against Israel; they were actually rallying in favor of Hamas, the terrorist organization that carried out the attack against Israel. His book also cites Mark Ginsburg, who is the head of the Coalition for a Safer Web. He claims that Iran and Qatar were two of the top funders of paid protests and professional organizers.
These top-tier lobbying efforts worked together to disseminate messages designed to capture the support of legislators, voters, and the media. We shouldn't be surprised. Palestinian activists had been working on this for decades. Kinsella's book also quotes a Palestinian activist who, back in 1995, told him Palestinian activists would organize on campuses worldwide.
They would recruit campus activists globally and secure funding from the Arab governments and wealthy donors. That was back in 1995. He said they would do that, and they have been doing it for 30 years now. That's why it was ready to roll. They had been quietly working that stealth strategy under the radar until they were strong enough to jump out.
The campus group that they formed and work through in America is called National Students for Justice in Palestine. Neither NSJP nor their local chapters are set up as a charitable entity. That means they don't have to report where their funding comes from. They don't have to abide by certain restrictions that all nonprofit organizations have to abide by in America who raise funds and do charitable activities.
Knowing where their money is coming from and how they're spending it is quite hard, but we're going to talk about that next week. They're funding education and organizing all of these protests around the world. The third thing that these foreign players are doing is conducting a digital war against Israel in social media using bots.
If you're not familiar with what bots are, they are fake accounts that do not represent real people. Digitally you can set up a bot farm and you can manage these fake accounts to put out messaging. They go out and look for certain keywords and then they just attack that person that posted on that subject matter.
We see it all the time in our social media posts. Certain subjects and certain words will just elicit a whole wave of antisemitism. A 2018 Anti-Defamation League study found that almost 30% of accounts that were repeatedly tweeting against Jews on Twitter appeared to be bots. That's just one platform and one study from back in 2018.
Since then it's only gotten worse. Digital forensics firm Cyabra analyzed social media after October 7 and they found that 20% of the pro-Hamas content was coming from fake or inauthentic accounts. Another study recently found 70 accounts of AI-generated fake rabbis spouting antisemitic nonsense.
How dangerous is that? Our young people come across what looks like an Orthodox rabbi and he's saying these horrible things. They don't know that he's not even real and he's certainly not speaking what Jews really believe. Our young people are receiving most of their information about current events and history through the lens of TikTok and X.
It's a distorted reflection of reality. They see thousands of comments against Israel and don't realize that they're not even reflecting real people. It's a digital war being conducted by foreign governments and terrorist organizations against Israel. Some of our young people, including Christian young people, either become so confused that they back away from Israel altogether or they actually become activists and start repeating some of these lies.
The major social media platforms are supposed to be ensuring that every account reflects a real person and that it's not an anonymous account used to harm or to defame people and spread racism. But they are not enforcing their own end-user agreements. This foreign influence is happening through funding education, through organizing these protests and media campaigns, and through a digital war of artificial accounts espousing antisemitic lies.
That's really where it's coming from. But what is making young people in America especially, but in the West in general, embrace potentially really self-destructive policies and ideologies to the point that they would actually call for the fall of America? How can that happen, or the elimination of Israel, or death to the Jews?
First, they are being trained in godless school systems in America. We took God out of the school systems 40 years ago. Secondly, they are being indoctrinated by all these foreign influences. Thirdly, they are living their lives on social media and in a false reality of algorithms and bots.
Research confirms the strong link between heavy social media use and the mental deterioration of young people. It's driven by addictive app designs, constant social comparison, and a lack of face-to-face interaction. Teens and young adults face heightened risk of depression, anxiety, frustration, and anger.
I call it the digital deterioration of the American mind. It's making our people vulnerable. A happy and hopeful young person is not given over to hate movements and calls for revolution. We need more happy, secure, and hopeful young people. We need to set safeguards.
