The Servant of God
God’s servants do not serve themselves, but rather Him. They are not called to fame or fortune, but to do their Master’s will.
Colin Smith: Open the Bible with Colin Smith.
A servant is a person who gets his master's will done. So when God introduces his servant in the book of Isaiah, he's saying, "Let me tell you about the person who will get my will done in the world."
He will not cry aloud or lift up his voice or make it heard in the street. Now in a world of self-promotion, that's really different. God's servant will not promote himself. He will not shout. The outstanding thing about him will be the quietness of his ministry. God's will is accomplished not by angry people who promote their own agendas, but by grace-filled people who reflect the likeness of Jesus.
