The Resurrection Body
When the trumpet sounds, the dead in Christ will rise and be changed, in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, and we who trust in Him shall be like Him.
Colin Smith: Believing loved ones who have died are with Jesus, consciously enjoying the glory of his presence, and that's better by far than anything they could know here. But God has another gift for them and for us that he's keeping for the day when he gathers his whole family together.
When Jesus returns, our believing loved ones will come with him. Then their souls will be clothed with risen bodies adapted for everlasting life. At the same time, believers who are still alive will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air. We'll experience the same transformation, and our bodies will be adapted for everlasting life.
