The 10 Commandments
The 10 Commandments show us God’s holy and righteous standard for our lives. To follow them is to live a godly life.
Guest (Male): Open the Bible with Colin Smith.
Colin Smith: The 10 Commandments are not an arbitrary set of rules. They are a direct reflection of the character of God. Think about it: why should you not commit adultery? Well, because God is faithful. Why should you not steal? Because God can be trusted. Why should you not lie? Because God speaks the truth. Why should you not covet? Because God is at peace and content in Himself.
And when God says, "You shall have no other gods before me," it’s because He is the only God. There is no one else like Him. God’s commands are given to His own redeemed people. And if you belong to Him, they are for you. God says to you, "You are mine, so model your life on who I am." That’s what a godly life looks like.
