Change My Heart

After King David sinned, he asked God to create in him a “clean heart.” This should be our prayer as well.

Colin Smith: When King David repented of his sin, he asked God for two things. First, he said, "Purge me with hyssop and I shall be clean; wash me and I shall be whiter than snow." David knew that he needed to be forgiven, washed, and cleansed.

But then David prayed, "Create in me a clean heart, oh God." See, he knew that unless his heart was changed, sooner or later it would lead him down the same sinful path again. So he prayed, "Lord, deal with the heart that led me to do this."

Now, if you're going to live the kind of life that God calls you to live, you need a new heart. And that's what God promises to all who trust in Jesus. Following Jesus is more than conforming to a list of rules; it's a change of heart that gives you new desires.

Guest (Male): Are you open to discovering what the Bible says about God? Well then come to openthebible.org.
