Jesus Is Our Advocate
One of our greatest needs is an Advocate with God the Father in Heaven. That is what Jesus is for all who belong to Him.
Guest (Male): Open the Bible with Colin Smith.
Colin Smith: When Jesus ascended into heaven, the disciples knew that he was exactly where they needed him to be. Think about it like this: suppose you are in prison on a charge that carries the death penalty. You need the best attorney you can get.
So you find a good attorney, and you discover that he’s not only a skilled lawyer, he’s also a man of great compassion, and his visits to your cell bring you great comfort. But what you need most from your attorney is not comfort in the cell; you need him to defend you in the courtroom.
Now, our greatest need as sinners is not comfort on earth; it’s defense in heaven. We need an advocate who will plead our case, and we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous one. Do you want to know the God of the Bible? Well then, come to openthebible.org.
