If the Son Were Not God
If Jesus were not God, He would not be able to tell His disciples, “If you have seen me you have seen the Father.”

Colin Smith: On one occasion, Philip said to Jesus, "Show us the Father and it is enough for us." Jesus replied, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."
Now, I have a brother in England. He's like me in some ways, but very different in others. I couldn't say, "If you've seen me, you've seen my brother." But Jesus says, "Whoever has seen me has seen the Father."
To know Jesus is to know the Father. To love Jesus is to love the Father, and to trust Jesus is to trust the Father. The Father has given all judgment to the Son that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. And the Father is well pleased when you love and trust his dearly loved Son.

About Colin Smith
Colin Smith is senior pastor of The Orchard Evangelical Free Church, a thriving, multi-campus church located in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and Founder and Teaching Pastor of Open the Bible.
Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, he trained at the London School of Theology where he earned the degrees of Bachelor of Theology and Master of Philosophy. Before coming to the States in 1996, Colin served as senior pastor of the Enfield Evangelical Free Church in London.
He is the author of several books including Momentum: Pursuing God’s Blessings through the Beatitudes; Heaven, How I Got Here: The Story of the Thief on the Cross; Jonah: Navigating a God-Centered Life; The One Year Unlocking the Bible Devotional; 10 Keys for Unlocking the Bible; The 10 Greatest Struggles of Your Life; as well as others.
