Deeply Insulting to God
We must believe in God as He is, and not as we wish Him to be. To mold Him into our image is insulting to Him.
Guest (Male): Open the Bible with Colin Smith.
Colin Smith: When people say they can't believe in a God who judges, they're really saying that they don't believe in the God of the Bible and that they want to invent another God more to their liking. To get a sense of how offensive this is, imagine a man editing a digital picture of his wife.
He thinks her nose is too large and that she's carrying a few extra pounds, so he rearranges her image. Then he says to his wife, "This is what I want you to look like." That's really insulting.
I expect his wife might say to him, "I am who I am." It's the same with God. He is who he is. He's not whoever you want him to be.
Guest (Male): Is there someone in your life who needs to know the God of the Bible and might be open to take a journey through the Bible with you? Invite them to openthebible.org.
