The Gift of Friends

April 27, 2021

In Elijah’s time of weariness and hopelessness, the Lord sent an angel to minister to him. Similarly, God provides you with rest, strength and gentle encouragement through the faithful Christian friends he has placed in your life. Thank him for the friends who minister to you in your time of need, and then consider how you can be an encouraging friend to someone else.

We’re living in a cultural moment where rejoicing in someone else’s pain is common. But as Christians, we are called to be imitators of Jesus. Do not take pleasure in the pain of others. Pray for those with whom you disagree, and be an ambassador of peace, love and healing.
