The Father is grieved by our disobedience and its consequences. But Christ’s blood shed on the cross is the antidote for the terrible harm caused by sin. The blood of Jesus makes all things right and all things new!

A trial does not bring everything to a standstill until you can quickly get past it. It’s not something to escape or a puzzle to solve. A trial is a road that leads you deeper into the heart of Christ, and he is walking with you through it. Be encouraged that Christ is right with you in your suffering.

Jesus still bears nail prints in his hands; the resurrection did not erase the scars. Jesus’ wounds tell the amazing story of his sacrifice and redemption for you. So never doubt the Savior’s great love. His scars are an eternal reminder of how deep his love is for you.

Depression is like being caught in a deep pit of thick mud. Your feet are stuck in a dark hole with seemingly no hope of escape. But God is able to lift you from the pit of despair and out of the miry clay. Counseling and medication are key when it comes to addressing depression, but so are prayer and God’s Word. Turn to the Lord, the only one who can bring you ultimate hope and healing. If you are struggling with depression, reach out to the Response Department at Joni and Friends.

When your soul is downcast within you, do as the Psalmist does – remember the Lord. Nothing helps a heavy heart more than lifting your eyes Godward. As you call out to God for help and hope, the depression may not lift right away. But you can trust that he is listening, and he is going to help you. If you are struggling with depression, reach out to the Response Department at Joni and Friends.
