Last words often contain profound meaning, and Jesus’ parting words abounded with significance. Before His ascension to the Father, Jesus left His closest friends with a commission—to spread the good news of the kingdom of God to the entire world.

Jesus Christ, King of heaven and earth, has called His people—including you—to go and spread the message of His life, death, and resurrection, inviting Him to fill the earth with His glory. Will you accept the call? Be challenged today with Pastor Chuck Swindoll as you follow along in Matthew, Mark, and Acts.

Jesus’ ministry with His disciples concluded where it began—at the Sea of Galilee. At this monumental shore, Jesus called many to follow Him. On its waters, He stilled the storm; and at its banks, He fed the 5,000. It is also where He appeared after His resurrection. At each of these significant moments, Jesus taught essential lessons. John 21:1–22 records one of Jesus’ last conversations with Peter. Listen in with Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he reveals the call and the cost of discipleship for those who follow Jesus.

To live is to grow and learn. Young and old alike have room to progress in maturity and wisdom. One of the many gifts of following Jesus is that He facilitates the process of growing and learning. For example, in Luke 24:13–35, the risen Christ appeared to two confused and struggling men to strengthen their faith. Walk the same road as these travelers with Pastor Chuck Swindoll. Their example will demonstrate how encountering Christ in life’s difficult circumstances will spur you on!

Demons. Darkness. Death. These three realities can fill even the strongest hearts with fear. All three were present as the first Easter approached. In the darkest hour, Satan and his host of demons believed that Jesus’ death meant their victory. Little did they realize that, though they had won the battle, they were about the lose the war! Take heart with Pastor Chuck Swindoll as he shares from John 19:32–20:31 that Jesus’ crucifixion can remove your worry and fear and replace them with abundant hope.

The execution of Jesus Christ stands among the most tragic and grim moments in human history. Even the sky turned dark at the horrific scene. Crucifixion was slow and excruciating. Jesus spent hours in pain, struggling to breathe. As His life slowly slipped away, the world witnessed the sinless Son of God die a criminal’s death to bear the curse and shame of our sin. Yet amid the darkness, the cross represented a shining hope. Behold Jesus’ sacrifice and walk in the light of His forgiveness as Pastor Chuck Swindoll teaches from Matthew and John.
